What size header tubes are being used on the 1600's ? is everyone still using the 1.25" FV size or is there a benifit to 1.5" ? ? Any Dyno expert out there?
Thanks!

I've built a lot of Vee headers and have never used 1.25", always 1.5.
The last FF header I built was out of 1.5" as well but included an anti-reversionary element in each tube.
Some Pinto headers begin with 1.5" and step up an eigth-inch every 5" or so to a final dia of 1.875".

Go to burnsstainless.com at the bottom of page, click onto 'race engine specifications'. Fill in the info requested and they will calculate the optmun header pipe size. Lenght of primaries. Reco type of collector etc. For your engine rpm, hp requirments, cam timing, valve size etc.
Burns stainless Recommended 1"3/8 tube w/ 36" long primarys into a 4 n 1 collector. i gave him the Fst specs out of the rules.
Greg,
1.5" tube will do you just fine. It's easy to find and makes plenty of power.
