    Default Gloves?

I like a lot of padding in my gloves. Which gloves do you like the most/least?
    Thanks

Simpsons have always lasted forever for me and are fairly thick in the padding area.

I would stay away from Sparco. My last pair lasted 2 race weekends. Sparco repaired them, but they are thin and not very tough.

    Default Gloves?

I had Simpson and you are right. They last long and have a lot of padding. Stand21? It's been so long I don't remember how much padding they have. Do Alpinestars have a lot of padding?

I just finally bought a new pair of gloves after many years and got the Alpinestars 1-ZX. Coming from the Simpsons that I had prior, they are not nearly as padded. However, I would highly recommend anyone shopping for gloves to go and try these on. They really feel fantastic.

I have had a pair of Simpson Talon Grip gloves for about six years now and they are still in good shape. I try to take care of them and they have been good to me. They are not fancy, but feel "right" on my fingers and hands. There is no right glove for you until you try on fifteen pairs or so in three sizes each.

The G-FORCE brand gloves have very good padding. As a long-time pair I had finally started to rot away (too many rain outings), I saw the leather over the knuckles and palms has a spongey material added underneath. Very decent price too.

I have a flashy Sparco outside-seams pair, and they feel alarmingly thin. Plus as the threads keep unraveling on the seams, I suspect a hole will appear soon. Simpson or G-FORCE gloves for the rest of my career, period.

Just about every manufacturer out there offers some model that is cheaply made and thin...so I wouldn't get too caught up in the brand. For example, in my opinion the Simpson Sportsman is a very cheap glove, the Simpson Undercover is a much better glove. The Stand21 Outside Seam glove doesn't even have nomex in the palm, therefore doesn't have the current FIA rating nor SFI rating while their Daytona model, IMO is an excellent glove.

There will be gloves that bunch up in the palm when you grip the wheel. There are gloves that will feel like a pair of welding gloves.

Find a pair that is both FIA 8856-2000 and SFI 3.3/5 compliant and you'll have a good glove, now find the thinnest one that meets both of those specs you can.

If you find a glove that is only SFI /5 compliant it may have a very short gauntlet or poor quality wrist closure. Find one only FIA compliant and it may not offer much heat protection in the palm.

My current pair are OMP Gran Premio.

why do you guys like the heavy padding? i feel it limits the amount of feedback i get from the wheel

i prefer gloves w no padding. i have tried so many pair of gloves and my fav's are these old OMP gloves that are very thin & only have some leather on the palms & fingers for grip. i have been looking to replace these, preferably with something very similar, maybe with exterior stitching

I don't at all. I want the thinnest glove I can find with adequate protection. Same thing with my shoes (soles). I also want a very good steering quick release. A bead seat that fits like a glove too! All for the same reasons---feedback.

In my experience Alpinestars have the most padding closely followed by Sparco then omp.

Sorry, my shoes are 19 years old, and no longer made. If I were buying today I'd probably go with Piloti LMP's.
