Default New Fuel Safe fuel cells

I see that Fuel Safe is offering standard wedge cells at fairly reasonable prices. The new 'hard rubber' says it is FIA-FT3 certified. Has anyone ever seen one of these? Are they legal for vintage FF classes?

Although SOVREN is anal retentive when it comes to 'period correct'... they DO encourage the use of Fuel Cells (made after WWII )

    It's here:

thanks, luckily my fuel cell was made after WWII . I saw that description on their webpage but I thought I saw a mention of a 'bladder' type construction specific to formula type cars somewhere else?

What about conference or SCCA (if I choose to run that later)?

how is the construction of the 'hard' cells? any idea if they will last longer than the rubberized fabric version that some people have had trouble with? I suspect the hard versions would be less susceptible to the oxygenated fuels that attack the normal cells (may be wrong on this one).

When I replace mine it will probably be through Eagle, but at these prices I would like to see what these look like.

    John,

I have no idea about how long the construction methods will last.

Well, bladder yes. Because even if you have an aluminum 'case' there's 'normally' a bladder inside that. Even if you buy one of the 'common' bladders, you would normally have it enclosed in an aluminum enclosure of some sort.

ICSCC and SCCA accept all fuel cells that are FIA-FT3 certified. And at least ICSCC maybe others.. We have a lot of NASCAR type SPO/GT-1's that have cells that may or may not be FIA cert'd.

    Default Fuel cell

I bought that exact cell but had to return it. Its a GREAT cell and vintage groups like HSR SVRA and VARA will love you to run that, but in my case the dimensions (even though I measured) were about an inch off and I couldn't squeese the hard plastic in.
I sent it back to Fuel safe and I'm expecting a credit or a bladder that I can make a case for.
GREAT cell if it will fit, and good price also
