Default '96 VD Front Lower A-Arm reassembly

On the a-arms front left lower to attach to pick-up points do the heims need a washer above and below when they fit into the pick-up sleeve? I know the attaching blots need washers ,but where the a-arm goes into the car. Johnny R

If no one gets back to you by Friday night, shoot me a pm and I will look on my car to be sure. I am pretty sure there is only a washer on the bolt head and the nut, not between the rod end and the sides of the frame pickup. The rod end should fit snugly in the pickup by itself. What kind of rod ends? Maybe they are a bizzaro rod end, but that would be a scary place to put washers.

If it's like my 94, you have the reducer bushings in the rod end, and a spacer in the unused location (upper or lower depending on whether or not you are using anti-dive), with a washer under the bolt head.

My 96 had the reducer bushings but no other spacer.

Late model VDs (99+) don't use washers on either side of the rod end at this pick up point, the p/u captures the heim perfectly. Can't say for sure because I don't/haven't owned one, but from what the other fellas are saying here, the previous generation VDs are probably exactly the same.
