Default 2011 Pro Series Schedule

    http://www.sccaproracing.com/files/m...landar2011.pdf

Erik, or anyone else in the know, is this the full schedule ? 4 race weekends ?? 2 in May and 2 in September ??? I was hoping for an additional weekend from last year's schedule...not one less. Are they still working on more dates? If so, will that be announced soon? Also, I'm just ready to race !

From what it sounds like on the SRF site is that there is more to come but maybe only one with the announcement coming soon.

    Default Mississippi River

Looks to me like there is a steel curtain along the Mississippi river that prevents Formula cars, or SCCA Pro from crossing from the east to west........

The San Francisco region's RE is dead against any SCCA Pro events running in "his" area. I have been told that he has "threatened war with Enterprises and SCCA Pro if they come into my area".

Well, there's the stand off. Not only does that effect California, but for the West Coast swing to work, Portland or another track would have to be in the mix so 2 races can be run out there to make the tow worth while.

I have point blank asked the RE to give us his reason and he will not provide an answer. There have been others that have provided what they think is his reason, but nothing from the main guy.

The SCCA Board is aware of this and will have discussions about it in a future meeting.

Nearest race looks like a thousand miles. Probably will not work for me unless I get transferred to New York.

Default Updated Pro FE & SRF Schedules

SCCA Releases Pro Spec Racer Ford, Formula Enterprises Calendar

TOPEKA, Kan. (Feb. 4, 2011) – SCCA Pro Racing® today announced the 10-race, 2011 calendar for the sanctioning body’s Pro Spec Racer® Ford and Pro Formula Enterprises series, along with a special format for each series finale.

Both series will run a five-event schedule, with doubleheaders on each weekend. The two series will run together at VIRginia International Raceway, Mosport International Raceway, Brainerd International Raceway and the season-ender at Road Atlanta. Pro SRF will team-up with the SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am® Series at the Trois-Rivieres street race, and the open-wheel Pro FE series will visit Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Though the calendar contains a mix of weekends that include Trans-Am, World Challenge, Grand-Am Rolex Series and Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup events, the season will end at Road Atlanta’s American Road Racing Championship (ARRC) presented by Grassroots Motorsports with the SCCA Club Racing.

That event will feature a half-distance qualifying race that will count for half of a typical race’s championship points and set the grid for the season finale, which will be worth 50% more points than a typical race’s payout.

Pro SRF competitors will score only the top six of the first eight races toward the Championship, but must count rounds nine and 10 at Road Atlanta. Pro FE racers will count all 10 rounds toward the championship battle.

More information on the second season of the Pro Spec Racer Ford and Pro Formula Enterprises is available at www.sccapro.com.

Well, let me the be the first to publicly bite my tongue.

It is nice to be at some big weekends.

Will we have our own run groups at the ARRC?

Yes, plus you can run the ARRC races (and ECR if SRF) if you want additional track time.
