Championship Update
- Current points for the 2010 F1000 National Championship presented by George Dean Racing Engines and Taylor Race Engineering are updated and found here. Remember, the championship is based on your best 6 finishes plus the Runoffs. Taking that into account, Brandon Dixon would still hold a large lead but the race for rest of the paying positions gets a lot tighter. On top of that, the Runoffs offers DOUBLE POINTS, which could put even more drivers in contention for the Championship, should they choose to attend. This championship won't be decided until the last lap of the Runoffs!
- Leg 1 of the RillTech Racing/Speads Super Sweep Prize is now complete and the following drivers have qualified:
Glenn Cooper
David Burkett
Niki Coello
Bill McLaughlin Jr.
Chris Waterman
To complete Leg 2, a driver must win his division points championship. Cooper is currently 2nd in SE Division, Burkett is leading in SoW Division, Coello leads McLaughlin in Central Division, and Chris Waterman is currently 2nd in Rocky Mountain Division.
- Regular-season scoring for the G. Jezarian PassMaster Award is also complete and the points can be found here. Bill McLaughlin Jr. has a big lead going into the Runoffs where big points will be available to registered drivers. With a large field expected for the Championship race, the G. Jezarian PassMaster Award will also be decided on the last lap!
Class Update-Important!
After this past weekends events, Formula 1000 participation sits at 2.73 entries per national race. To maintain national status and retain a place at the Runoffs, the class needs to stay at or above 2.5 entries per national race. There are 11 national races left in 2010 to help determine our national status and that means that to stay above 2.5 entries, there needs to be at least 15 entries over those 11 races.
This is critical: please take a look at the remaining races below. If you can fit one or more of them into your schedule and/or budget, you'll be doing your part in ensuring that we can continue to race F1000 in national races next year. If we don't make it, it will be regional-only races!
