F1600 Series Announces Inaugural Season Schedule
Sharon, CT – The F1600 Formula F Championship Series today announced its inaugural first season schedule, consisting of five weekends and 10 events, pairing with the F2000 Championship Series. The new Formula F Series opens the year at VIRginia International Raceway in early April. Following VIR, the tour visits Watkins Glen International, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lime Rock Park and concludes the season with a second date at Watkins Glen in mid-October.
“The inaugural season, featuring four great tracks and five weekends of double-headers, will give us a chance to judge interest and grid sizes. If the current exceptional level of interest results in good fields the new series will be a great addition to the F2000 schedule.”
The 2011 season will see F1600 pair with the F2000 Series, using the same staff and lending itself to the same concepts of a balanced schedule with double-race weekends and lots of track time. With the goal of over two hours of track time [not including testing sessions where available] and single class racing the F1600 Formula F Championship Series looks to be on solid ground.
VIR will kick off the season, April 8-10, pairing both Series with the Vintage Drivers Club of America [VDCA]. Watkins Glen is next with the Grand-Am Series, June 3-5. The Series opens the month of July at Mid-Ohio, June 30-July2. In September, it’s Lime Rock with the NASCAR Modifieds, September 16-17, and the season concludes at the highly popular Watkins Glen, October 14-16.
“Our seasonal survey of our customers told us that one track was at or near the top of everyone’s favorite list, Watkins Glen International. With the Grand Am 6 Hour promoted spectator weekend in June and the Vintage Racers Group [VRG] in October in the Finger Lakes Region height of fall we have it covered.”

Awesome!
Definitely going to try and be a spectator at a few of the races if possible.
Sorry Mike, didn't mean to steal your thunder!
Any word on when the rules are going to be available?
Thanks!
