No doubt you folks have answered this question before, so maybe you can point me to an existing thread...

I would like to get into local/regional FC, at the most reasonable expense possible. I have been to Skip Barber and Jim Hall schools (but not to the wings and slicks level). Do not have an SCCA license yet.

What would you suggest as the best way to get in and learn and then race (or at least, be in races)? What should I expect to spend to get into the sport and on a per race basis?

Thanks for your patience with these basics, but I haven't found this kind of info anywhere else.

I noticed that you live in Dallas. There will be a school/regional race at TWS(College Station)in Jan. I would recommend that you rent a car and drive the school. There will be plenty of people you can talk with about budgets, cars for sale, etc. I can put you in touch with a couple of shops with rentals.
