That made my day. I'm glad to see they didn't waste any time with a helmet.

What kind of crappy engineering students can't just falsify the data that is required in the tech data package for the FSAE competition? They don't require pictures, just data.

I don't know looked like a successful test to me. Driver was still alive.

Only problems were the ECU flying out of the engine compartment and what appears to be a crack in the upper frame rail where it was previously repaired.

Sounded like the guy on the pace bike was yelling brake, BRAKE! Or, brace, BRACE!

Actually, it's Toyota's new corporate-wide protocol for their design engineers - make THEM test everything to failure!

Well, there's no need for expensive test dummies this way. (Instrumentation may be a bit lacking.) Seriously, though, what WERE they thinking?

Am I the only one close enough to college to remember what the decision making ability of the average 20 year old is?

Hell, I'd probably still give it a shot.

The book was Voyage of the Beagle. Haven't seen anything like that since my youngest son tried shooting peas out his nose. Damn near wet my pants.

What is the problem? It seems to me it was a successful test, no? No need inferring if the dummy would have lived; they have proof the dummy lived.

While we may have visual proof that the dummy lived.....we don't have any statistical data to run in the computer models; and unless we can run it on a computer model it isn't real.
