Default June Sprints Honda In-Car Video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyWLoZF9mZE
I posted video from the Sat AM Qual at the Sprints. First shot at posting video, so any suggestions welcome. As for the push in the car, I know about it and, as for the sloppy 2-3 shifts, I was using a shortened shifter and never came to grips with it.

Mike I think there is something wrong with your video......

Where are all the other cars! How did you get so much open space and so many clean laps

    Default Honda Sprints video

Nobody wanted to be the one who gave a Honda a tow, believe me I tried.

    Default Engine Parity thoughts

Watching Mike's video I have to say that you cannot conclude from that video that the Honda is down on power. Nor that it is equal to the Kents that were at the sprints and outqualified Mike. There is just too much else going on. The car rarely makes it to the apex in the right hand corners of which there are many and all are critical. I can only imagine that the same engine in Hazelton or Treadways wagon would have come a lot closer to the pole. Or set it?

So how does one adjust the two without making a mistake in the favor of one or the other? Probably with well designed and executed dyno experiments. Track testing, in my opinion, has too many other variables, like setup, driver confort level at a given track and chassis suitability to the always varying conditions. Until a large number of each engine type participate in the same session with a suitable population of chassis and driver combos it is inconclusive. I have to conclude that current track 'data' is not what should be used to adjust the honda SIR until Mike and others get the rest of the package dialed in. That car was a handful.

Why use objectively varifiable data when you can rely on an infinite number of subjective variables?

Default Honda Fit at the sprints

Too many experts and too many opinions on this subject. Why don't we just race our cars. Thanks Mike for posting the video.I saw where you did laps in the 227's.How does this compare with your previous times at Road America?By the way my data from the last Runoffs shows a tow can be worth as much as a second a lap.

The on track data must be used to validate the dyno data. Neither should be used without the other.

Good Grief, Mike is nice enough to post his video and it turns in to Honda vs Kent debate thread #5 or is it #8?

    Thanks Mike!

This was my first time at Rd America in an FF. I ran there last year for the first time in a PRS CF at the 40th, so I don't really have any times or data to compare to.
