Derek, you should get it to add to your collection. Take it the FSV reunion that Mark Malley's working on and destroy the competition (excluding Tom F.)

Chris - you know I only buy cars that are "projects" - no one ever told me that you could buy race cars that are ready to run

Any chance we will see you at Atlanta (SVRA) in October?

That part I forgot. Tell ya what. Dismantle it, give me most of the bits and pieces, and I'll feed them back to you over the course of the next few years.

Very slim chance for any racing this year, but you never know. SVRA at Road Atlanta in Oct. would be great tho'.

    Default 85 Ralt

It belongs to a friend of mine....and it really is ready to take off the trailer and onto the track. Car was last raced in 2009. Since last race...New FIA Hans approved belts. New
fire suppesssion system with current FIA dated bottle....both from Pegasus in Jan 2010.

The tub was rebuilt several years ago on the factory jigs and was bonded and riveted. Total time on rebuilt tub about 10 hours.

The body in the photos was designed by Carroll Smith and his son raced it and set a track record at Las Vegas. The original body, in the original postal box red is also included as well as extra front and rear wings and noses.

The engine was originally done at Bunce's shop in Southern CA. About 7 hours on the bottom end and 30 minutes on the top. Dyno sheet from Bunce engineering showed 235 hp at 8500 rpm. Torque around 160. Currently the engine has been detuned a bit for reliability. A little bit lower compression fthrough the head and head gasket and cam. It was done for simple starting and reliability. He does have the go faster head, as well as the electric/mechanical fuel injection. Currently using the original Bosch distributor with a Pertonix ignition, but has the timing wheel on the crank for an electromotive box. New flywheel with a Tilton clutch, Taylor race throwout bearing and a tilton starter with a custom made Taylor race adapter. Absolutely bullet proof. New Varley battery and a hardwired transponder.

Gearbox is, by serial number, original to the car. 5 speed Mk 9 About 10 hours on last rebuild. A few extra bearings, dog rings and such. Set up for Thunderhill. No spare gear sets.

Suspension redone 10 hours ago with new rose joints. Many spare suspension parts to include axles and jigs to make new a arms.

Mechanical tach, racetech (new) other gauges. All wiring done with aircraft grade parts.

Koni shocks. A bit of time, but still responsive. Includes set up sheets.

There are enough spares to fill a one car garage.

I have personally driven the car at AAA Speedway, Willow Springs, Buttonwillow and Thunderhill. Like all of the early Ralts, very nice to drive, and with the very stiff tub, excellent feedback. It would be a good starter FA vintage car, or a nice FS for regional races.

It is homolgated for FA and FS.

    Hope this helps.

    Scott B
