Default 2010 North American Formula Ford Festival

HSR West announces the inaugural North American Formula Ford Festival

Torrance, California - March 1, 2010 -- Following the success of the FF 40th Reunion at Road America in July 2009, HSR West Racing is pleased to announce it’s running of the inaugural North American Formula Ford Festival in the United States at Miller Motorsports Park on August 20, 21, 22, 2010.

Steeped with history, the Formula Ford Class is arguably the most successful open wheel Formula ever created. This class is run all over the world with the current flagship events, the BRSCC Festival and the Walter Hayes Trophy, being held in the UK.

The North American Formula Ford Festival will be run as a knockout heat style event, similar to the races in Europe, and will be open to all Formula Fords, Vintage, Club and Modern. Sunday, August 22nd will feature the main final and finals for Vintage Fords and Club Fords. The main final will feature qualifiers from the heat races, regardless of car era while the Vintage and Club Ford final qualifiers will be based on best lap times throughout the weekend for the respective eras. The winner of the main final will be crowned the North American Formula Ford Champion.

This event will feature standing starts, keeping with European tradition, as well as a controlled tire for all competitors. There will be many other unique features to this event including last chance races and progression from the Vintage and Club final through to the main event.

Utilizing the challenging East Loop of the Miller Motorsports Park facility the inaugural North American Formula Ford Festival is an event you won’t want to miss if you love Formula Ford. Updates on the event can be found at www.formulafordfestival.com and forum discussions will be taking place with more details at www.apexspeed.com.

So I assume FIT power is not welcome?

These are the type of events I really want to attend. I hope HSR considers the FIT to be a part of FF in the United States.

After contacting HSR they informed me that the FIT was not an option when they started working on the Festival so for now they are sticking to 'One Engine' as noted above. Hopefully they will make room in the future if the FIT is successful.
