    Thanks, Chuck.

I want to see them within hours. :-).

Any news from Sebring's qualifying today? I heard yesterday that Brandon's engine lost 4th gear, so they changed engines. Also testing (Thursday?) were Coop and Beattie.

I hope the weather turns more typical-FL for them. Forecast was pretty dreary last I checked.

In FB, 1st qualifying was 1. Brandon 2.Coop 3.Beattie 4.Fitos 5.Leavein(sp?). That order will probably stand as tomorrow morning is going to be to cold and maybe raining for qualifying.

same in second qualifying. Sunday morning may be faster.

We put a new engine in Brandon's car yesterday because all of the teeth departed 4th gear. We found them in the pan.

Coop lost oil pressure in the second qualifier and he and Indy were putting in a new engine when we left. He had been chasing an oil leak since Homestead.

Russ, sorry I forgot to text you. I'm pretty much exhausted after the last 9 days. I get on a plane tomorrow to spend a month in Alaska for my real job. I will send you the updates as I get them.

    Default Sebring Weather

Any updates as to todays events at Sebring?

Forecast low of 25 overnight. Hope to be there to spectate by 10 on Sunday.

This feels like Great Pumpkin Weather at the Ledges or the US Grand Prix when held at the Glen.

I'm sitting in the tampa airport, but just got a phone call from the track that said it was raining and cold at the track and only about 5 cars went out in the morning qualifier for the FA, FB, FE, etc. group

Dr D., We are running the full course, same as the 12 Hour race runs.

Got almost everything squared away in regard to the engine swap, just need to source an oil cooler in the morning. Maybe gonna see if an FE unit will work.

    Sebring, Saturday, FC...

Miserably cold and wet. Cole and Winslow swapped the lead multiple times in the rain. Usually one would pass the other just after the green was waved after numerous FCYs. Lots of carnage in the run group. On the last restart Cole spun back to 13th in T1. Managed to get up to 3rd by the end of that lap, when the officials ended the whole mess with another FCY. In the end it was sleeting.

    Brian Belardi was 2nd.

Cole's best lap was 3 seconds faster than any other FC, but one must not spin...

Most drivers were closing in on hyperthermia at impound. Wet and 38 degrees, strong wind.

They will be group 3 this morning, in bright sun and near freezing temps. That race is probably over by now.

You poor guys.........sounds like typical Cen Div racing in the spring and fall. I just spent the week in Miami and key west last week and the weather was in the 50's and 60's untill my last day there it was 70!!

Qualifying is over. Bright , sunny, low 40s, with stiff wind out of the north... much more pleasant and balmy than yesterday.

Cole is on FC pole at 2:078 about 1.5 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

Sounds like a typical March race here in the Northwest. Really sorry to hear about the carnage which we don't have cause we're used to those conditions. Last years March race was black flagged after 2.5 hours when the snow was about 1.5" deep on the track and we couldn't see from one turn station to the other in the blizzard.

I didn't see any 016's but some 014's and rt41's were running strong.
I only saw the Group 3 race in the rain on Sat. and the Group 6 Qual this morning. Today was beautiful cool and sunny (approx. 42F in the AM).
    I' post a few photos.

Last of the photos! Sorry for the loooong distance (old camera W/no zoom).
I probably was the only crazy taking pics out their in the 34F rain yesterday.
P.S. It was productive however, I did scarf up a good set of cold weather FB take-offs from the GoodYear guys for my car for this season.

    Default Cole sets FC Record

2007 F2000 Championship Series Champion, Cole Morgan, ran off and left everybody in a win at Sebring this afternoon. In the process setting a new Sebring Long Course lap record: 2:07.508

Second went to Brian Belardi 2:08.92

Third was F2000 regular Bobby Caldwell 2:09.1

    Fourth: McGinnis

    Fifth: F2000 regular Chris Gumprent

Haydon Duerson (sp?) ex-karting star, was running second until a shifter linkage failure.

James Winslow, (2:09.4), running a very taped up car, experienced burned alternator wiring and resulting ECU problems, finished 11th. It might have overheated during a FCY.

Now with 3 wins and a third in the past 8 days, Morgan Racing will now send Cole back to college, and "Cool It" until the Runons at Road America in September.

I arrived at 9:30 AM and it was 32-33 degrees. Talked to James Lee about the trailer door having problems due to the cold. I left before just as the caution period began.

Froggy reported that several drivers were "closing in on hypothermia". Only in Florida could one suffer from hypothermia and heat exhaustion in the same race season.

I only counted 2 FC's on GY (Cole and Jim Johnson), only one or two FF's. Several FF's starting the race on sticker Hoosiers,

Congrats to Cole. Did John win FF?

I was surprised at the amount of money being spent on wings to chase Cole's 19 year old Swift.

If these new wings are worth 2 seconds a lap, maybe these guys just aren't bolting enough of them on the car? Double decker front wings?

Maybe Cole just has the right mix of dents and spray paint for best L/D.

On Saturday neither Brandon nor Coop took the track. Coop's car wasn't quite back together and Brandon blew an o-ring out of the oil filter on the way to grid.

Today Brandon won by about 30 seconds over Coop. Brandon ran a 2:04.6 on the last lap of the race on 25's left over from Homestead, everyone else in the 2:08's and higher.

No, but Jacek was running his at least one test day at Homestead, but I heard he didn't have the restrictor in yet. He drove his CSR the rest of the time.

Someone was running a 016, but given that I even lapped the car driving a FE is was not up to speed.

I don't know anything about it. I've bought whole cars for less than some of those wings cost. Looks like the swift package is the hot one to have.
