Well, many of you know how it went -- we had the largest FC field I can remember at BFR for a Midwestern Council event (7 FC's, 4 FF's, 4 CFF's, 2 S2000's, a CS2, and an FA -- this group is getting bigger than the SS/IT group!).
First the bad news... you may have seen Doug & Keith Carter's post for suspension parts. Keith met the tirewall in turn 7 during practice due to a horribly slippery track (oil everywhere thanks to a GT1 car).
Don Leonard made the leap from F500 to FC in a 98 Carbir and got 3rd place. Not bad for his first time shifting a racecar!
Chuck Lessick qualified on the FC pole but started at the back due to a clutch that wouldn't disengage. It didn't take him long to grab the lead back, but as soon as he did, coolant was flowing freely out of his overflow tank.
This left me to try to catch Tony Specht with six laps to go. His lead diminished from three seconds to three inches, and then on lap 21, his fuel ran out.
Lyle Rundhaug had parked after corner 1 just a few seconds before, leaving him one place behind Tony. Bill Musgrave finished second.

Thanks to everyone who came out. FC's were so scarce in our arena just a couple of years ago that it used to be considered an easy-trophy class. Not so anymore!!
