The October 11 FRCCA closer will help benifit several charitiable organizations both local to Pocono (Sheppard House Food Pantry) and a Cancer Society in the NYC area. Neil Platt former driver in the club has made arrangements for the Cancer Society and John Heckman President of the FRCCA has made arrangements with the local food bank. Heckman said, "We are not only an organization that prides itself on it's competition and friendliness in motorsports, but we are all (club members) very civic minded." "Many of the club members are volunteers in everything from Cub and Boy Scouting to serving on Fire and Rescue Squads and Town Councils." "We need to keep in mind that while some of us have been very lucky it the recent times that many have not been, and we need to reach out however we can an help those who have had trouble in this economy." The club that mainly stays with Formula Cars only has opened it's doors to GT cars with portions of the entry fees going to the various charities.
