I have recently purchased an '88 Reynard to go CFC racing. Anyone out there running a late '80's Reynard that would be willing to share some general technical info with me?
If so, drop me a line at BrandonLAdair@cs.com

Keith at Averill gave me some good starting points last year. He also will have just about anything you need for your car. Give him a call at 248-585-9139.
thanks for the help!!!
I am taking my first school at Blackhawk on Aug 11, any pointers?
Whoo hoo, another Conti at Blackhawk! We'll be there too. That is, if we can keep the car glued together this weekend.

Adair,
As an instructor I will throw in my 2 cents worth.
1. Roger and Chip will not be there. Lap records are not important. Consistant, fast, safe driving is important.
2. Have your car race-ready before you leave home.
3. Have some "crew" to help. It is hard to pull off a school alone. Such as it is hard to listen to your instructor while you are off buying fuel.
4. Saturday night, before you go off to Pizza Hut to brag about your day's exploits, carefully go over the whole car, so that it's ready Sunday morning.
5. If nothing else, learn how to be aware of the corner stations. If you stay in this sport, at some time in your career those folks are going to save your ass.
Sleep well, drink lots of fluids, and go like hell.
And if the instructors don't explain the Friction Circle concept, demand your money back and go to a school where they know what they are doing.
Thanks all for the advice and encouragement!
I have been prepping the car and have made contact with a local SCCA Tech who is going to inspect the car and my gear before I even leave my garage.
The previous owner of the car is going to accompany me to the School and take care of the car so I can focus on the class.
For those of you who will be there, I will be the one with the white reynard with blue wings, currently #29. Drop by and say hello, and I will do the same.
Thanks again and keep the info coming. It has been a huge help!

Adair,
When the hell do you sleep?
3 a.m. posts.....
Hey Frog, Why do you always check the time people send e-mails or post information. Some of us are enjoying our busy life while your in bed every night at 8PM.
Frog,
I was wondering how long it would be before someone caught that... I work for an airline and it is my turn to work the midnight shift for a few months. The operation slows down at night giving me an opportunity to surf around and find info on my new hobby.
18 hours almost to the minute.
