Gents: I've now read two reports on the new GSX-R1000 and am not ready to state that it IS the motor to have. The motor is ~1 pound lighter and 10mm shorter in length. The increase in bore and reduction in stroke has made the motor produce slightly more power at higher RPM's, but not enough to get really excited about. The 'tuners' haven't worked on the motor yet, so it's not time to make final decisions. Given the price and availability of '08 GSX-R1000 motors and what the market will bear for '09's, the '08 is looking very good.
