Post FF Forged Pistons - when legal ?

I read now that Formula Ford engines are "now allowed to use Forged Pistons" & also may use .005 oversize forged pistons.

When I look in my 2009 GCR it says nothing about being able to use these forged pistons for better longivity of the engine. Lists only cast pistons.

Talking to friends they say it will allow double the life out of the FF engine when used with the cast steel crank.

Was it in a Fsattrack that this rule change was announced ? When was that ?

    Thanks.

    Default

In 9.1.1.D.1.e.2, page 205 of the 2009 GCR:

Standard size AE pistons P/N 18649, casting P/N 18634, standard size CP piston, part # 81-2 FF1600, or CP oversize piston, part # 81-2- FF1600+5 may be used.

Bolded section is the new forged pistons.
