Default John Zeitler email

Anybody have John's email address? I raced two races back in the early 80's with John at Watkins Glen. Would like to make contact again.

Thanks in advance.

please contact my friend Doug at: STOKES28@earthlink.net

he couldn't log on to Apex for some reason, so contact him directly...the phone number and address he has for John are a couple of years old, but should be a good lead for you...

Hi, I got your details off the Super Vee website. One of the guys I work with here in the UK has a John Zeitler built FJ car called a Zeter which John built and raced in the early 1960’s in the USA , we have shots of him with the car at Watkins Glen. We only have very limited history and knowledge of the car and would dearly love to know more about the car and it’s history. This car was bought by us last year and will under go restoration over the coming year(s) here in the UK .

We would very much like to get in touch with John Zeitler if he is still around. Please could you let me know if you have any contact details for him. If you are unable or unwilling to pass his details to me I will willingly furnish you with all our contact details here in the UK .

John passed away several years ago (2005).
Here is a link to a newspaper article that may help.

Default Zeitler engine parts?

Would there be anybody still using SV engines built by John Zeitler?

I'm told by Bertil that John used to buid VW engines with the F.I. Bosch pump mounted to the side of the block, driven off the intermediate shaft nose with a 16 tooth gear...
and maybe Bill Alsup, Jon Q Peterson , Fred Phillips and/ or a few other ran that configuration in their SV cars.

Any idea on how to get in contact with their shops or new owners? I got one of these FI pump setups, could be useful to Vintage SV engine owners.
Some more photos included, trying to sort out how it all fits in.

Hi Ricardo,

Bill Alsup did indeed us a Kugelfisher FI system with a Bosch pump mounted on the side of the engine in his Argo JM2. He calimed that much of his sucess in 1978 was due to his injection system. He said that he developed the system using a custom "cam" to increase the fuel mixture as the throttle was opened. He thought it gave him an edge over the rest of his competition.

I believe his first Argo JM2, chassis 007 still has the original Kugelfisher FI system intact. This car was originally a 1977 aircooled car that was converted to water cooled before the 1978 season. The car is now located in a museum in Cleveland Ohio. Here is a link to their site: http://www.wrhs.org/index.php/crawfo...tion/1977_Argo
I was recently contacted by a long time racer living in Clevelland who has offered to get me some detailed photos of the car including the FI system.

I own his second Argo JM2, chassis 020 which he won both the Mini Indy series and the bosch cup in 1978. The engine is currently setup with a Lucas FI system. I have a complete Kugelfisher induction system but I am missing the pump and linkage to complete the system.

Please send me a PM if you are interested in selling or trading your pump.

Best regards, Joe
