    Wanted To Buy panasport rim

    Hi,
Looking for an older (straight) Panasport rim for my DB-1. The rims I have are a four bolt pattem, in gold. I'd like one that is made for a four bolt set-up. The rims have a small chine around the lip. ANY color will do.
    Cheers!

    Default Wheel

Hi - Measure the back space on your wheel. If it is about 3.5, then I might have a used one. Most Gold Panasport wheels were 3.5 for a Crossle' but they will fit a Swift. Swift back space is 3.3. Neil - Porterracing@Mindspring.com

Thanks Neil. I did re-measure and it is in fact a 3.3 spacing. Thanks anyway.

    Default Panasport wheels

    Neil,
Many Panasports in gold color, were 3.5" backspace, but not most.
For years, we sold them with the 3.3"(T-640 Lola backspace), for Swift, etc, until the machining/color change.

Like I said, ANY color will do. Having trouble finding one anywhere.

Can you get a new one from Panasport? The PO on my car got a new one (not sure the size, can check when I get back home on Friday) in the last year or two for the Hawke.

I can order a new one but the rim is different. The older wheels have a small chine in the lip of the rim and I'd like to get on that matches.
    Thanks

John, I have several older gold Panasports from my old DB-1, but they are center lock. Is there any way to make this work for your bolt pattern? I have seen DB-1 wheels drilled for both center lock and bolts, so maybe you can use one of these wheels.

    Let me know.

I don't want to hijack this thread (or Flyind D's possible deal), but...Tom if you want to trade those Panasports for a set of Compomotives they would look great on my Lola...

Mike, the rims I have are the same as the photos you linked, except the holes for the pins/bolts are smaller. I will post pictures later today, they are out in the trailer,

Kurtis, I have a total of 7 of the gold rims. One or two is promised to someone local who needs to fill out a set, leaving one full set and at least one spare wheel. John would have first dibs if he can use one. I would not be interested in trading them, but would probably be willing to sell the set if you are interested. The price will be very reasonable, as all of these rims are well-used, many scratches, I will post pictures later today.

    John,

Here is a picture of one of the Panasport wheels I have. If you can make it work for you, let me know. Off of a DB-1, centerlock hubs.

Panasports for 4 bolt have a tapered insert pressed in from the outside to seat the tapered lug nuts. It's possible to buy the inserts and machine the centerlock wheels to fit. I've done this on several sets of wheels that I wanted to use taper lug nuts with. Just a thought. You still need to know if the center hole is the right size. With taper lug nuts it's preferable but not absolutely neccesary to have the center hole fit over a centric register on the hub.

    Thanks for the info Brian.

John, the wheels I have are 2.25 center hole. If you can use one, let me know.

I have one gold panasport from my DB-1. 4 bolt 4" on center, 3.5" back space with a slight wowie on the back side. Still holds air and could be repaired very easily. Call 734.856.9179 if you can use it. It has the small lip on the front that you are looking for.

Where does one aquire the tapered lug insert, or get a wheel insert repaired? I have one insert that came loose.

    Default Panasport

Still looking for a 4-bolt, Panasport rim for my DB-1, with a 3.3" back spacing. Like to get one that has the chine on the outer edge, as pictured above, if possible.

    Cheers!
