Default Ralt RT5 Suervee Fuel Inj. Identification?

    Hi all,

Looking at an RT5 project and learning.......

What was the FI system used? Bosch? Lucas? Kugelfischer?

Here is a link to a pic showing an FI unit the same as I am looking at:

Curious to hear comments on their functionality, issues, if any, parts sources?
    Thanks.....

Any other RT5 advice also welcomed and appreciated..... Interesting cars!

    Default F I

That system shown in the picture I believe is a Bosch mechanical FI system. I had that same system on my RT5 and it worked flawlessly. I also had a Motec electronic system, however, I never tried it.

I am in the final stages of restoring a Anson SA4 Super Vee and part of the project was rebuilding the Lucas Metering unit. That is what is on the car pictured in the link. The unit is extremely reliable. The downside is you have to run 90 to 100 lbs of pressure to them. try the link below for additional information.

Yes, I do remember it being a Lucas now that you mention it. That was almost 20 years ago for me. I do remember having to buy a high pressure fuel pump that I believe was a Bosch.

That RT-5 was the fastest, best handling formula car that I ever drove. Although, when the carbon rear wing mount broke off in the middle if the carousel at Sears Point it didn't handle quite as good.

Yes, that metering unit is a Lucas unit. I do have lots of RT-5 stuff in boxes. Let me know if you are in need of anything.
