    Default FF40th NEWS 02/12/09

Preparations for the FF40th are moving along at a brisk pace. The supps have been finalized and sent to Topeka for approval. Sanction numbers are expected to be issued after the SCCA convention. As soon as sanction numbers are in hand, the on-line entry will go live. Watch this space for an announcement.

All cars entered in the restricted regional will be issued three-digit numbers starting with a 1. Cars crossing over from the restricted regional into either the national or vintage race groups will continue to use that 3-digit number in order to preclude number changes between races.

Don't forget that you must be an SCCA member to drive in the FF40th. Here's the link to the membership application form on the SCCA web site:

On the subject of the Supps for the event we are asking people with licenses from organizations other than SCCA to fax or scan and email copies of those licenses to us so we can make the registration process as easy as possible.
The GCR list of licenses accepted for the Regionally sanctioned classes, Group 4A and 4B, includes the following organizations:

    ASN Canada/CASC
    BMWCCA Full Competition
Confederation of Car Clubs [CACC] Competition
FIA, issued by any sanctioning body
    Historic Sportscar Racing [HSR]
International Conference of Sports Car Clubs [ICSCC]
    International Motor Sports Association [IMSA]
Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs [MWCSSC] Full
    NASA- Competition License
    Ontario Region CASC
    PCA Club Racing Full Competition
    SCCA Pro Racing
    Sportscar Vintage Racing Association [SVRA]
    Vintage Motorsports Council [VMC]
Waterford Hills Road Racing Club [Full]
    West Canada Motorsort Association

For Group 9A and 9B all the above and add the following:
    VSCDA
    VARA
    HSR-West
    Sovern
    CSRG
    VDCA
    VSCCA

For Group 6 the only license accepted is the SCCA National Competition License.

Remember, regardless of the license the competitor holds all drivers must be SCCA members, as do crew members wishing access to restricted areas like the hot pits and false grid. Crew members can by a weekend temporary membership at the track but drivers need to take care of that before the event is underway.

OK gang, DelVecchio is coming, that is established, can we get back to more important topics ?
Oh right, nothing is more important than Crankie D.........
Seriously folks, licensing and membership are important items that need everyone's attention well before July.
With the crowd expected every aspect is being investigated towards making things flow seamlessly, everyone's help is appreciated. It is to all of our's benefit to take care of details before arriving at the track this July.
Thanks, from all of us on the Organizing Committee.

    Mike,
Do you know if anything is planned for extra help at tech to expidite the process? You know if they waive tech for all FF classes we could start the social events early.

    Jason,
Tech is a subject we very much want to get on a fast track. Anyone with a current yearly on their SCCA Logbook definately will be ahead of the game, we are working through the various other clubs logbooks, and for those running Group 9A or 9B, Monoposto will be administering tech, hopefully Teddy Wenz will be in charge there.
Don't you have happy memories of pushing your car in to long lines every weekend on Friday night, during "Happy Hour", much adult beverage consumption, wonder how many tech disagreements could have been avoided of the drivers and crew weren't all drinking while waiting......and the tech crew weren't all jealous !
Yeah, we are working on an overall tech plan, Milwaukee Region is on it.
