Super! Only 1 track I didn't like (Cleveland), 1 I have wanted to race on, but haven't yet (VIR), and 1 I don't know anything about (NJ). Looks great!

    Default No Lime Rock

    No Lime Rock?!
Is this due to the "Club" or the car-eating downhill (lack of run off).

decent schedule other then no glen. Get rid of Mosport and add a glen race and it would fine.

A few answers to these early questions:
---The WGI date loss is due to ISC, owners of WGI, dictating there be a stock car component to the weekend to help build the gate so they scheduled a Busch East race to co-feature with the Grand Am 6 Hour. That really squeezes available track time for support series. Then Formula Mazda approached WGI with their fat checkbook and a TV show and by-by F2000, this after a handshake agreement in mid-September.
---The New Jersey Motorsports Park project is headed by Harvey Siegel, the man responsible for the rebirth of VIR. I have no doubt it will be a first class faciltiy and there are dates being scheduled, I believe starting in June, so by September it should be all good.
---Lime Rock, certainly the Club has confused things but ultimately the only date that was attractive was ALMS and IMSA refused the tracks request to run another support show on a two day weekend.
---So we have three high profile/visibility shows with Drift Atlanta, Cleveland Champ Car and Mosport ALMS and all the rest are spectator events run with smaller groups with great track time [amount] and times [when each day] at great facilities.

Mike - Thanks for the reply. As much as many of us dream of working in the auto racing field, I can imagine the difficulties you run into working out this schedule.

    Keep up the good work!

I saw elsewhere that you have signed Hoosier as the tire supplier for the next several years. That should be of interest to a great deal of racers who have run them for a long time.

Matt, I just did the work, Harvey wrote the checks. But thanks for remembering !
The great thing with the Hoosier partnership is the stability it affords through astrong three year commitment on both parties part.
Now I just need to remember to refer to the series as The F2000 Championship Series Presented by Hoosier Tire !

FYI: I believe that after Jan 1st, 2008 anyone returning back to the states from Canada will require a passport.

    Jason is correct, I believe.
We were going to cover that in detail in the next month or 2, but this as good a time as any.
Everyone needs get your Passport, or get it updated if expired, and be aware that this can take a month or more, so why wait ?
Mosport is one of the last real race tracks, if you haven't run there you are in for a treat.
No need to fear the border, we will give everyone the process necessary to make it painless, and the Canadian fans are the best, just wait, you'll see. And that Canadian beer is way good also !

I wonder if I can talk the Ontario FF guys into racing at summit point. Might increase entries

    Hello all,

I am not sure where to post something like this but I figure this thread is link to what I wish for....

Since a tentative schedule is available, does anyone need assistance from an experience pro race and data engineer for the '08 season. 2L's has always been my favorite eventhough it is not what I have the most experience with in cars. I've been out of the picture for a couple of years and I am ready to back in it, maybe even race a little in '09.

    Please advise. Thanks.

    Default Mosport 2009

Boys, you will love mosport, promise. Additionally, one year won't be enough, as it'll most likely kick your butt the first year.....we may as well sign up for two years! It's worth the trip!
    Plus, Canadian strip clubs......

    Default Miller event

I am on the Miller website as I write this. Which track are we at? Are we running with another series for that event as well? Track layouts look fantastic as does facility and 90 min from my home.

    Miller ?
The F2000 Championship Series is not going to Utah, where Miller Motosports Park is.
We are, however, going to the new track under construction in New Jersey, New Jersey Motorsports Park, in Millville, NJ, maybe that led to the confusion ? It is 30 miles west of Atlantic City.
We are scheduled to run on the Thunderbolt Circuit September 18-21.

Sorry, meant Milleville track. Was a LONG night last night. I did notice we were not listed on thier event listing. They have that date listed as promoter test day. I live in NJ near Len Amato.

Yes, Friday is a track test day, but F2000 has booked all day Thursday Sept 18 for F2000 testing. The event, an SCCA Regional, is Saturday and Sunday Sept 20-21. We will race both Saturday and Sunday, the event is our season finale.

That is yet to be determined. My Cleveland contacts are as in the dark about all this as you and I are.
It is highly frustrating especially for the support series.
All any of us can do is wait for "them" to make a decision one way or the other.

The Cleveland promoter (Lanigan/Mi-Jack) have a contract to host the race with the city until 2012.

So Champ Car or no Champ Car the festival must go on.

The race is one week after Le Mans so ALMS showing up may be a little tough and Grand-Sham is in Mid-Ohio that particular weekend. Speed World Challenge is available that weekend and has run in Cleveland in past years.

I could see a double-header Atlantic race being the highlight but the place would be a ghost town.
