This is the 4th time this year I've read or heard about an entire race car trailer and contents stolen from the owners driveways or right in front of their house! It's really a shame and quite brazen by the thief. You really have to worry that people with guts enough to do this are packin. Really a shame
A 12 volt battery, motion sensor switch and a screaming siren might help? Even in an unguarded storage location.
CREW for Jeff 89 Reynard or Flag & Comm.
I still favor a 12 volt battery and a 12 volt fence charger hooked to the door knob
Does that really work? Without risk of fire? If so, How and what kind of charger? Headed to my local hardware store as soon as I find out. Thanks JM
Careful- some curious neighbor's kid gets a shock and tells his father (The Lawyer) about the shock he got from your Boobie Trap and.............
The kind of charger that is used on electric fences to contain livestock.
Post no tresspassing signs and warning signs on the trailer thast it is booby trapped and that will go a long way toward keeping potential lawsuits under control.
Also, the shock is not lethal and not injurious (I have accidentally tested my friends horse fence a number of times). But it most definitely will make you wish that you never got hold of it and you WILL let go in a big hurry.
Probably would have to get it at someplace like Tractor Supply.
And if it stops someone from stealing your trailer, well worth it, IMHO.
If you can make up a flier with some pics I'll print/post them at the next race. We have a pretty big cart group out here that race the same weekends we do. They will keep their eyes out I'm sure. I have no idea what the different carts ect look like so pics may go a long way in the hunt for the bastards.
Good luck.
