    Default Merlyn fuel cell

My Merlyn Mk 11A needs a new fuel cell. The old one has deteriorated to the point that it is dangerous. I know this is a long shot, and that I will probably need to have one custom made for the car, but I am posting this message to see if any one out there has a new or slightly used cell that will fit a Mk 11. My understanding is that generic formula car fuel cells won't work, because the Merlyn requires a cell with a notch on the right side to accomodate the shift rod.

    Thanks,

    Default Fuel Cell

I went through this with my Zink about a year ago. There are a few cells available through Pegasus that may work. They have a couple with notches for the shift linkage in there catalog. Look at the website for the sizes and shapes. The photos do not match the cells being described so contact them and ask for the drawings of the cells they stock. If you can use one of them it will be the cheapest way to get a new cell in your car.

    Chris:
I had a custom cell for my 11a made by Aero-Tech in 1998 so they have the pattern. It was bought via the UK (where I then lived) but was made in the US. If you contact them and have problems I can provide you copies of the invoices. Contact me at bradpiece@cs.com if you need further info.
