    Default Canada G.P. Coverage

I know we all tend to use forums for bashing and complaining about everything under the sun, but as I watch this FOX coverage of the Canadian GP, I have to comment that Steve Matchett and the rest of the regular F1 crew are doing a great job with this crazy race.

Matchett, in particular, is going to great lengths to explain F1 tactics, technology and simple things we mostly take for granted. And he's doing a fantastic job of it, too.

Is it just me, or would anyone like to have dinner and a few pints with Mr. Matchett to pick his brain and listen to stories for a while?

I like all three of the Speed crew. They work well together.

And Kubica got out of that with a broken leg.

    What a race!

    Default Two Thumbs Up

For all we complain about network racing coverage, the Fox (ie. Speed) coverage of the Canadian GP was superlative. Yes, it was the regular Speed crew, but they did a fine job of pitching it to a non-specialist audience.

Of course, the drivers/teams gave them plenty of material to work with.

I agree...and props to Fox for having the sense to bring in the Speed F1-Meisters!

I prefer the longer Speed format, but thought the crew did a masterful job with the time block they had.

Glad to hear Kubi is on the mend.

Portland's standing start in less than half an hour!

    Default Canadian GP

I'm jealous! I am working in Belgium at the moment (I live in Dallas) so I watched the race in my hotel room. The broadcast was in French, so it is good to know my fellow ApexSpeeders can fill me in on Kubica's situation. That was a huge accident!

I think Mark Webber had an incredible up and down race. I just have to wonder what his crew was thinking when they brought him for his last pit stop just before they waved the green...they really penalized him!

CCWS standing start in 13 minutes...thank goodness for Race Director!

The coverage while it was on was good, and the team do a good job but I find the frequency and length of the add breaks infuriating and advertising the same thing over and over drives me crazy. As for not showing the post race interviews............... I guess I was spoilt on growing up with add free BBC coverage.

The Fox coverage was pretty good, but I think that the japanese coverage of the takuma sato pass was the best I've seen.

When that "vs." graphic comes up I can't stop laughing. Great stuff.

Thats what it sounded like in my living room - I'm a huge Takuma Sato fan. The cats ran in the other room.

As Taku goes for the pass... "Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!"

As for Kubica's crash... Thank you Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Downing.
