Default Rear wheel bearing - SKF 633007C

In an earlier thread I found (don't seem to be able to paste the link, sorry) a number of people said that the SKF 633007C rear wheel bearing for VD RF-83 and various Reynards is hard to find and expensive. There was mention of a late model Audi bearing that was same ID/OD but 5mm narrower. Does anyone have that Audi bearing reference number, car model, etc?

    Thanks, Brian

    Default Rear wheel bearing

Reynard went to the SKF 633007 bearing in 1985. It is a ridiculously expensive bearing, but there is no other bearing that is a replacement. No one makes an interchange for it. The 83/4 Reynard bearings will not fit. This bearing was only used on a couple low-production items, and SKF doesn't produce it very often.

I keep a couple of the 633007 bearings in stock. The price is high and even at the high price, I don't have a very good mark-up on them. The good news is that they last a long time, and seldom require replacement.

    Default Bearing

Just to muddy the waters further, there is a Lamborghini Diablo bearing that is the same size (50x90x34). Its part number is SKF 633761.

The only place I've ever seen it is here: http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/pri...qx/product.htm

    As usual, it's expensive ($336.59).

    Default last a long time

It's a good think they do last a long time - 25 year old car, bearings getting replaced for the first time, so I won't be the next guy changing them 25 years from now!

    Larry,

This is the same bearing used in the Ralt RT-40/41 front and rear uprights.
