    Default change control process improvement

it's been more than a week since the 0.005" oversize FF piston tempest in a tea pot
arrived on the seen and still no data to support the surprise change. having sat on
and chaired any number of hardware and softwae change control boards through the
years, you can bet your last dollar that I'd have bullet-proof data in hand if I'd voted
for a "bolt-from-the-blue change" on a 35-40 year installed base of engines. you
can also bet your last dollar that a non-attributeable version of that data would be
available at the club's website and here at ApexSpeed so the membership could
conclude for themselves that I'd made an informed, objective, and responsible
decision on their behalf. complete and open disclosure of the data forming the
basis for approving the change would do wonders for the tone of the discussion.
nauseous party lines, opinions, bluster, and emotions in lieu of data only serves
to fuel the fires of doubt.............
