Default ***message From Srp About Shocks***

The rumors we are hearing from people over the phone are getting a little out of control. To finally put an end to these, here is the REAL STORY: Every shock that needs to be updated will get drilled, tapped and a Schrader Valve will be installed. This is the only modification that you will notice. Everything else is done internally. These internal changes consist of new shims of original valving, a new divider piston that seperates oil and nitrogen (most shocks we have serviced have exceeded their rebuild interval), and of course SRP 2.5wt oil and SCCA seal kits. The price of this update will be $150/ shock for EVERYTHING. Bent shafts, broken eyelets, broken spring retainers, etc. are EXTRA MONEY. The only problem we have run into is with the air valves leaking from the threads. This problem was only in the first few sets we did, the very few people with this problem have called us, and it has been taken care of. The main reason for this update is to prevent races from having to buy new shocks when the existing units need service, fail or are damage in an accident.

After your shocks have been updated, you will be able to egt them regularly serviced by SRP for about $90/ shock, not including broken parts. Everything that is done by SRP is passed by the SCCA and Erik Skirmants, and is LEGAL. If there are any questions, please call Joe Stimola 516-671-9715.

    Thank you,

    Default Replace divider piston?

Joe. I was wondering if that was a misprint and you actually ment that you replace the Seals on the Divider piston? If not,why would the divider piston wear out? Wouldn't the seals or o-rings wear out first? Thanks,Darrell

    Default Divider Piston

The original Divider piston is stamped steal, the piston itself doesn't have good tolerances(it isn't that the piston itself is worn)...therefore the o-ring on the piston doesn't do a good job of sealing. So, we replace the divder piston with a new, carbon composite piston and new o-ring for a better fit. On future rebuilds only that o-ring will be replace, not the whole piston.

Hope that answers your question and if anyone has any others, please ask or call us!

    Thanks,

    James Stimola
