    Default Rt4 cockpit size

What is maximum driver size for a RT4? I'm 6' 190 not very wide at the shoulders.

I think you'll fit. I'm 6', 175 lb and I'm fairly comfortable in my '83 RT4. More hip room than my old Swift DB4. The only restrictions I feel in the RT4 are around the elbow area, but once on track I forget all about it. :-)

on edit: My RT4 has forward facing roll hoop braces bent outward (by a previous owner). That might be a reason why my car feels roomy enough for me.

You would have no problem in a RT4 from a fitting size. Fairly large cockpit and if you don't have really wide shoulders plenty of room even with forward facing roll bars.

    Default Rt4/5

Thanks guys. Turns out the car in question is a RT5. Assuming cockpit size is similar. Going out to look at it in a couple weeks and will find out for sure.

I'm pretty sure they are the same.

I recently measured the width at the bottom bottom of my RT4 at the narrowest part of the tub at the seat/floor. It was about 15".

The lap belts' attachments (on my car - maybe the same for all RT4's) makes the width about 14" there.

At the rearmost of the seat/floor, it's about 16" wide.

BTW, I think the most interesting difference between the RT4 and RT5 is the fuel cell size. The RT4's is bigger (taller behind the driver). I assume this was for the longer distances of the pro Formula Atlantic (and F2) races compared to FSV/F3.
