    Default Brabham Documentation

    Greetings,

We are looking for Brabham information.

Are both of the BT5's accounted for? Are all the BT8's accounted for?

We stumbled across a sports racer stored for 40 years that may have indications of Brabham lineage and or potential actual car/chassis/running bits.

If you are an expert in the make/models, please contact Art Jahn
    Thank you in advance

I assume you have found the data available on both Old Racing Cars and on 10/10ths in the historic chassis history section.
There do appear to be some blanks regarding the exact history and subsequent disposal of every BT-8.
If it turns out what you have found in indeed the remains of a BT-8 that will be one of the greatest barn finds in many years !

Good luck, these were fast and gorgeous cars back then and especially now with their clean lines and lack of aero stuff.

Thanks Michael - I am not a vintage guy so could you email, or post the sites you are describing? I need to pass the info on to my father. I am sure I can google it but at work right now.

    Thx

    Hi Art,

David Irwin would probably know, he's the Brabham guru and frequents this forum. This is his contact info from a previous post of his. Good luck!

Here's the link for Brabham BT8 page on the https://www.oldracingcars.com site, which also talks about the 2 BT5s. I know that the BT5 mentioned as owned by Bob Lee was sold many years ago:

OK, I guess by age I am indeed "vintage" !
And being vinatage my tech "skill" are really limited but see if these work for you and your fther.

tentenths.com, then forums look at Historic Racing an in that look for the Chassis History Archive

Tons of arcane yet interesting race car data, alphabetical by chassis manufacturer the model , great resource.
There are several pages regarding BT5 there.

oldracingcars.com/projects/brabham BT8. Tons of stuff there.

Wish i could do better with a link to just click on but I am embarrassed to admit I have never been able to accomplish that !

David Irwin is a very knowledgeable Brabham guy, was originally down the road from me near Lime Rock park. Whether the is up on the sportsracer BT5 and 8 I don't know, but he has restored many single seater Brabhams.
