Torque Multiplier Wrench

Hi Folks, We need to torque our wheel nuts to 500-550 Ft Lbs (swift 016a) we don't want to carry a 10 Ft pole around,
Anyone use a Torque Multiplier Wrench if so what Brand.

Having used a torque wrench, a torque multiplier and an electric impact, I would never again use the torque multiplier. Pain in the butt.
The torque wrench is easy and quick but they are a pain to pack and store being about 4 feet long.
A Milwaukee Fuel M18 impact is what we have been using in FIA FE for 4 years now and have NEVER had a nut be undertorqued. Our torque is in the range you stated.

I recently crewed on a team that had a 600 lb-ft torque wrench with a handle that split in half like a floor jack; very convenient, I'll see if I can get the brand name.

I have one of the big Milwaukee 3/4" impacts. Bought it for motorhome work - 1500 ft-lbs capable - you want to have a good grip on it before pulling the trigger! Kinda scary on race cars - I just use the lowest precision setting to snug the wheels and finish with a torque wrench.

It has several precision settings selectable via blue tooth - 60/120/240/480 ft lbs I believe. The gun is customizable. All you need is something to calibrate on and it should do the job.

Our 3/4 drive Proto is 3 1/2 ft. long and does 600lbft and is supposed to be more accurate at the top of the scale. Almost everybody makes an extension handle unit for the higher torques. Snap-on, Proto, Sturtevant.
