Anything is possible. My DB4 has a rotary conversion. I was told by the guy that designed and manufactured it that his shop charged about $40k for the job. Your change may be easier.

Mine was one of a few done by Anthony Woodford of AWR. It was originally a Lynx Racing car in the Pro Series.

IIRC the DB-4 was originally built for the BDA. If came out in 1988 IIRC. Dan Carmichael had one with a BDA.

IIRC the DB-4, as Bill correctly stated, originally was designed for a BD series engine. However, when Toyota became a named sponsor of the Atlantic series a conversion kit was designed (by Toyota Racing?) to stuff the 4AG engine into the DB-4.

I think I heard the Toyota Atlantic engine was pretty much a copy of the Ford Cosworth Atlantic engine. Is that true?

    What is a DBA?

    Default DB4 Toyota

Swift had Bahner create the original kit to install the Toyota in the DB4 and when finished, took over the production themselves. Marc also created the Toyota RT4 kit which was initially built for Chris Bender, who had the first one when they came out. The DBA is probably meant to be BDA I am guessing. The funny part is the Toyota supposedly had considerably more HP than the BDA so that must have been the reason our RT4 BDA's had a 50 lb weight penalty added!

AFAIK, the Toyota 4AG had smaller crank journals and needed rebuilds more often than the BDA/BDD. I think the weight restriction was series sponsor Toyota's method of ensuring a Toyota-powered car would always win. With equal weights the DB4 would not have beaten the RT-40/41 cars. So, the Ralts were further ham-strung with rear wing restrictions which limited top speeds (IIRC.)
