Went back and watched the 2014 Formula F Runoffs race. Ethan takes home the bronze medal and gives a great interview after the race. For just the interview fast forward to 47:15. https://www.scca.com/videos/2027436

Ethan great qualifying. Now show those Miatas how it is done.

    Default Lotus 7

I think you will find the Robertson car at the Barber Museum.

2X on Barbers.... saw old DP car a couple of months ago. Lotus collection there is reason alone for a visit....bikes are icing on cake.

What I found interesting was the pole FP car wasn't faster in traps.... about 8 mph slower than Ruck, and about 2-3 slower than Chima in his 7. Craig is no slouch (FP and EP past champ), but Ethan seems to have speed elsewhere that others lack....must know RA well!

Wish I was there to watch!
I'll be off working in the Catskills with little or no reception.
Hope the film coverage is good! Maybe it'll be viewable later.

Thanks, Guys, and us, too Christopher!

It’s our home track since I was 3 and probably our favorite event — and that includes a dozen F1 races since ‘76.

Pat Prince built another 7 for Tom Robertson in the '90s. It was quite innovative and very delicate in its details. Different from Tom's 1978 Runoffs winning car. Pat explained how he'd done it all within the rules. Center lock Technos on a TR 5 axle no less!!

Interesting... bottom and mid will get you there, too? It’d be interesting to see segment times from 3 to 4, 5 to 6 to 8, and 14 to the bridge...

    Sounds like Ethan’s got this.

Well... I gave it my all. Ruck had us beat 100% on straightline speed. But I told myself that I wasn’t going to give up any corner that I had a chance at. I was willing to drive it off a cliff sideways if it meant a win. He was already pumping the brakes going into 1 at the start of lap 2 so I knew we were going to run him hard. But right at the apex in T1 on lap 2 the LF tire went flat. Like all of a sudden. Perhaps it was some carbon from the P2 race before us, who knows. But the car braked as normal, turned in as normal, and got down to the apex before all of a sudden heading for the fence. I’m pretty bummed at the moment. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out this year. I guess maybe 2022? I’ll be older, fatter, and balder so maybe the prod group is my thing now?!?

Or, bring the 7 and a Formula car to Indy! It's about the same distance and maybe everyone will come down from WI to cheer you on. And maybe we'll be closer to normal next year.

Don’t know if anyone else saw but I was on 5 and you had a spark shower out the back L when you went down the inside of Ruck on lap 1, maybe it was related....pretty sure I saw it on the replay if you can find it. Congrats on a great effort and hell of a drive short as it was...

Ethan, such a freak bummer. Really bummed for you, but Tim showed that old age and treachery may still have some life left so you being such an “old” guy may still have a shot when your a year older. It was awesome watching you drive It like you stole it for the short race that is was. Maybe I should have wished you good “luck”. Take care, Todd.
