    Default 2020 PrimusF2000.com

    PrimusF2000.com 2020 Season

From Pawleys Island, Sc. · Feb 23,2020 - The Primus F2000 championship sponsored by American Racer Tires is happy to announce some new changes for the 2020 season that we believe will attract more competitors then the record breaking 26 drivers of 2019. In addition to the normal points championship for the five race weekends which pays prizes to the top 3 positions in the final points payout. You only count your best 4 results towards total. Mauro Fauza received 1 set of OZ magnesium wheels(valued $2100) Doug Stewart 2nd place received New Primus 2020 updated front wing assembly (valued $1675) Jim Belay 3rd place received 4 Wilwood aluminum calipers(valued $900) These prizes also do not include the thousands of dollars given out at the Quartermaster Classic at Roebling Road and the Race Mirror GP of Road Atlanta. We are grateful to the sponsors and also very grateful to the loyal competitors who continue to show up and support by attending all of the championship races.

So in addition to the normal prize fund paid out to the drivers that accumulated points derived from their best 4 results or best 8 races with exception of Road Atlanta which is a single race but double points. We have decided to add an additional championship that may cater to drivers that live farther north. We will have a 3 weekend championship on top of the normal points which will consist of the following events.

    1) Roebling Road Q/M classic, April 25-26

    2) Choose 1 of the FRP events on our schedule either Barber Motorsports, May 15-17
    or VIR July 17-18

    3) Race Mirror GP of Road Atlanta, Nov 6-7

Now if for some season you can not make Roebling road or Road Atlanta you can substitute with Daytona or either FRP event. You have to compete in 3 events and you have to pay series registration fee to be eligible for this mini championship title. We will have a similar prize fund for this mini championship which will be very lucrative to the top 3 positions. Both top 3 title winners will receive the very nice crystal trophies as shown in picture below

There is one more topic to discuss. which tires will the PrimusF2000 series run at the 2 FRP events.( Barber and VIR) We have to run Hoosier tires and its still only allowed 1 set per weekend. many people have expressed interest in using the regular pro tire which is a very good radial or we can use the the R45 bias ply tire which is similar to American racer tire. I would like everyone's input before we make the final decision. Obviously we will be running American racer tires for Roebling, Daytona and Road Atlanta.

I am sure there will be questions about this new format and some issues that will need to be addressed. We will continue to use FRP technical rules with exception that that Zetec and MZR cars will be required to run additional 20 pounds of weight over that of the Ford Classic(pinto) powered car.

Please try and register for series as soon as possible so we can add your profile to driver section of website and we can send you series decals- this shows drivers registered so far so we hope to add the many other drivers expected to compete. you can also call or email directly to me to pay registration fee.
