    Default 2020 schedule released

    PrimusF2000.com 2020 Schedule Released

From Pawleys Island,SC. Jan 12th, 2020- We are proud to announce the 2020 Schedule of events and also a name change for the southernformulacar.com championship for 2020. The new name for the series will be Primus F2000 series and website will web address will soon change to [/SIZE]http://www.PrimusF2000.com Since Primus Racing Parts is the main sponsor for the series we thought it best to incorporate the Primus name . American Racer Tires will continue to support the series and we will continue to use these fine tires as the spec tire of the championship. We are also happy to announce that Quartermaster Clutches will continue to sponsor the Quartermaster Classic in April at Roebling Road Raceway. They have supplied a nice line of of clutch parts as the prize fund for the April event at Roebling Road. We also have confirmation with Race Mirror Company to sponsor the final race of the year at Road Atlanta which will be called The Race Mirror Grand Prix of Road Atlanta. We will continue to build up the series and bring in new sponsors. We are happy to say that the following companies will remain as part of the support for the championship including Aim Electronics,Performance Friction Brakes, Driven Race Oil, Speedcom Electronics and Quicksilver Race Engines.
We have also made a decision to add two high profile dates to our schedule in 2020. The series will be running with Formula Race Promotions(FRP) at Barber Motorsports Park in May and Virginia International Raceway in July. We will be scored under are our regular points during those 2 weekends and all tire rules and series rules will apply. The President of FRP Bob Wright has put our series on the schedule of events for those two weekends. It will be a nice boost to our championship to run with all of the other different race series under the FRP umbrella.
In 2020 the series is growing to its highest level since the start in 2017. Starting this year we are requiring a 1 time registration fee which covers each driver for the entire season. The one time registration fee cost is $175 and payable on the primusracingparts.com link https://www.primusracingparts.com/Pr...ee_p_4612.html there are many expenses associated with running a series like this so this fee will provide funds required to operate this race series. We have never charged any entry fee and that will continue to be the case, you will just register with SCCA as if you were running one of their events. We have not charged any fee in the past but beginning in 2020 it will be required. If you are just doing 1 event the one time fee will be $100. The top 3 participants in the points championship in 2019 were 1st place Mauro Fauza,2nd place Doug Stewart and 3rd place Jim Belay. They were presented prizes and trophies totaling over $5500 and this does not count the two sponsored events which totaled another $5000.00 . If we keep growing at the same rate we could possibly double this prize fund so we encourage everyone to register for the series as soon as possible.
There are lots of new people joining the series in 2020 . The first race of the championship will be at Sebring International Raceway in February and we hope to have a solid entry for the first event of the year. We are expecting a record field for the 2nd event of the year for the 4th annual Quartermaster Classic at Roebling Road Raceway in April. In 2019 we hired Scott Conway the famed 2nd generation announcer and voice of Road Atlanta. We hope to be able to arrange to have Scott come down again to announce and present the trophies and the prizes awarded to the top 6 finishers of the combined 2 races for the weekend. The SCCA region for Roebling Road was extremely accommodating last year, they really made sure that our series had everything needed to make it a successful weekend.
In May we are off to the Beautiful Barber Motorsports Park. This weekend will be run alongside the FRP series and all the details have been coordinated with FRP so that we will run according to PrimusF2000 regulations. If you have never been to Barber I highly recommend making the trip because it is literally the Disney World of Motorsports. When you pull in the gate you will see what I mean and they have the best race car, street car and motorcycle museum in the world. The next official date will be another FRP sanctioned event in July at Virginia International Raceway. We hope to attract many of the northern FC drivers along with our regular participants. After VIR we have a couple months off, then its back down to Daytona which generally is another well attended venue. The final race of the year will be the 2nd annual Race Mirror Grand Prix of Road Atlanta which should be a great event to decide the final points positions and also walk away with some very nice carbon fiber and standard mirrors provided by the Race Mirror company. Scott Conway will also be announcing our race and doing podium interviews after the race. Scott Conway and the Atlanta Region have really helped with the growth of the series and we are thrilled to finish the season at their championship ARRC weekend.
Well it looks like its going to be a great season and we are on schedule to break the record of 26 participants in 2019, so please register for the championship as soon as possible to help support the continued growth of the series. Any question can be answered by Brad Baytos President of Primus F2000 , just email sales@primusracingparts.com or call 727-804-7417 hope to see everyone at our events in 2020.

    Regards, Brad Baytos
