    Default Rear Drums

Spent this morning up at a new foundry getting started on making a new batch of drums. By the time we get through all of the processes, delivery most likely won't be until April. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the casting price will not rise over that of the last batch at the old - now closed - foundry that did these for me for the last years.

If you want to get listed for an order of any of these, just PM me here or e-mail me.

Lots of delays in getting info back from the foundry, but I finally have an order in for 50 castings. Most likely won't see them for at least a couple months (awaiting a lead time back from them), so at best, it will probably be June before they are ready to go.

Still planning on this run of drums, in spite of the possible impact of this Covid-19 shutdown of so many businesses.

Will be picking up the castings next Monday, but won't be able to start on them for a few more weeks - the lathe is already loaded up with other jobs for at least 3 weeks.

Will advise again when I get them started.

Finally getting to start on the drums - things have been crazy around here for way too long! I can't really predict exactly when they will be done, simply because things can always go wonkers when I least expect it, but I'd say that around the end of April is a safe bet.

Anyone who wants any will want to message me to get on the list.

Looks like I'll have the machining done over the weekend, and if so (lots of unexpected interruptions keep hitting me on finding a foundry for another new product - the foundry that I used for 30 years shut down), I'll get them over to the broacher early next week. That process will most likely take 2 weeks.

Final machining operation on the drums is in progress. I expect to get them over to be broached next Monday, How long that will take I do not know yet - should have some sort of answer back from them tomorrow. Hopefully no more than a couple weeks - everybody seems to be rather busy right now.

I’m on last year’s list , but I’m going to have to wait for the border to open back up to order a pair , otherwise the shipping cost is crazy. Hopefully soon .

Quite often I ship out to someplace at or near a border crossing that stuff can be picked up.

I do take advantage of being on a border town , but I can’t even walk the 2 blocks south to get them without having to quarantine afterwards. There are forwarding companies, but even that adds 100’s to the cost . Rumour has it it’ll be open by September, fingers crossed, I want to race in Washington state again! Thanks for your patience ????

Hmmm.... Interesting.I sent some stuff to someone just outside of Vancouver last year during the shutdown, and somehow that were able to pick it up at the crossing personally without an intermediary or have to quarantine afterwards.

Have only 5 left. With the way things are going, most likely won't get a new batch started until sometime near the end of the year.

All are sold. Not sure yet when the next batch will be available, but most likely around the end of the year.

Looks like I'll finally get some more castings going in the next couple of weeks. Depending on the loading of some other jobs, they may be available around the end of May.
