Default First Round of Southern Continental Championship Takes Shape

    www.PrimusRacingTeam.com

This weekend Primus Racing heads off to Savannah, Georgia to Roebling Road Raceway for the first Round of the 2019 SCC season!

A strong field of 18 cars will take to the track for the Quartermaster Classic! With the potential of reaching 20 cars by the weekend we are very excited as the championship is still so new.Quartermaster Clutches support of free products to the top 6 finishers has helped raise the bar and give all the drivers a little extra incentive to make this event. We have also hired the famed Road Atlanta announcer Scott Conway to join us for the weekend to announce both races and give out the special crystal trophies during the podium presentations. American Racer Tires and Primusracingparts.com are the primary sponsors of the race series and we are grateful to bring event sponsors like Quartermaster, Race Mirrors and Driven Race oil to sponsor 3 of the 5 events on the schedule.

Primus Racing is so appreciative to all the teams and drivers attending our first event because its vital to have a big field to keep sponsors happy. The Roebling Road event is run in conjunction with the SCCA Jim Stark Memorial weekend. We have received news of a few more drivers making the trip down to Savannah, Georgia. Cade Wilson and Dan Guenther are making plans to attend the race driving all the way from Michigan in hopes of a warm up for their full season of racing in the Midwest division of the country. We surely look forward to all the drivers joining in on this action packed weekend. We will supply sponsor strips that are placed on the bottom sidepod area of each side of the car. These can be picked up from Primus Parts trailer when you arrive at the track.

Full service mounting and balancing will be available at track as early as Thursday if anyone plans on doing Friday test day. Normally the series limits test days to save on overall cost, but it first race of year and some people want to get up to speed. We are excited to get the season started and look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!

This looks like a good event, wish I could have made it. I think it would be great to get these regional series all over and then meet at the end of the year for one final shoot out.

Brad we need your help in the Central division for tracks like Blackhawk, Road America, Autobahn and then we can do a crossover event at Gingerman with the GLC.

Brad has done a great job promoting this series and I'm sure it will be a fun event - our club needs to start counting regional numbers so the class gets credit for participation in these series.

Agree with Brian, if there were some events in Cendiv a few of those trips I could make, would still be a haul but at least there would be the opportunity. I would think there would be a lot of potential entries in the Cendiv area. Unfortunately for me the travel for the current tracks is just not doable.

Two things come to mind when i read the impressive entry...

    1. There is a past national champion in that mix.

    2. John needs to explain the name "Big Diamond".

First time in a long time that i wish i still owned an FC. Even an old Reynard.
I'm imagining T1 after the green rag drops. yee haw!

Sorry John! Slip of the hand while typing! This is actually Derich Cutshaw from the race team, see you tomorrow!

For everyone else as well, I will post updates here throughout the weekend and post some photos as well. We will have some live streaming from the Primus Racing Team facebook page (facebook.com/primusracingteam) as well and we will continue to work on a streaming platform that will suit everyone!

    Default Long way home.

It was a long flight home but with a couple hours of sleep and a 32 ounce cup of coffee I've had time to decompress the weekend.

What can I say but two thumbs way up for Brad and the Primus crew. you guys hit it out of the park. The organization, the competition was all top notch. even though we didn't have the best of luck it was simply a blast to race with everyone that participated. I think Brad has a great formula to put the fun back into racing.

Big thanks to Skip Weld for a great car!

    Thanks Brad.

Scott - I especially enjoyed our drag race to the finish line - I thought the draft would give it to me
