    Default New Silver Carbotechs?

Has anyone had good or bad experiences with the new carbotech silver pads?

    Anyone find them to abrasive?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I like them.. and they stop my car... Quite pricey, but only other alternative that I know of is Porterfield and I've heard they don't seem to work as well. There are 2 versions of the Carbotech Silver.. XP8 and XP6. I THINK that the XP6 is a bit harder (less abrasive), but I haven't tried them. I think Rick Shields has run them. You can call CT and get more info. The XP8 DOES wear on the drum a bit.... but it keeps them round .

How about a disc brake package?

How many races do the new shoes last? How much effort goes into keeping at optimum performance (shoe shimming etc.)?

I heard some time ago that the FV Committee *MIGHT* be discussing that .. but have heard nothing recently. Making a change like that comes with a WHOLE BIG BAG OF WORMS... in the potential for making other 'like' changes at the same time .. and whether or not a particular ' commercial package' would actually be SUITABLE for RACING applications.

As for the shoes .. they seem to last a "reasonable" amount of time .. about a season of active racing. I do nothing more than the usual adjustments .. couple times a weekend .. or less depending on the number of sessions. I don't 'rotate' the shoes.. I wait until the most worn shoe is DONE, then swap the better shoe for that one and replace the second one with a NEW shoe. Seems to work pretty well for me.

I'm dealing with a really bad wheel hop from the back of the car under hard braking since the car hit the track this year after ground up rebuild, it's so bad it bent both trailing arms, Any thoughts from my racing friends?
-New Drums from Dietmar, New shoes are the newest
    Carbotech silver material 2 weekends.
    -Bias is set correctly
    -Fronts hit before the rears
-Shocks are not bottoming out, either front or rear.
-Camber -5.5 total, -1.0 total droop, obviously that changed as the trailing arms bent I'm at like +5.5 now.

    Default Carbo

We have broken several Protoform trailing arms at the axle mount flange due to torsional rotation caused by the strong friction of the Carbotechs. Your flanges appear in the pics to have been strengthened at the flange so you're bending the tube instead of ripping the flange from the tube as we have seen. We use Carbo fronts and Porterfield rears successfully and ended the problem.

I agree, I use near stock rear brake shoes .
I also use a valve on rear brakes to reduce pressure.
Never bent or broken a trailing arm. I do carry 2 spares though!!
