Default Lobro CV joints - replace or reuse?

I need(?) to replace one of my CV joints. Just wanted to confirm the Lobro standard issue CV joints are the right ones? This is for a Stohr F1000.

Here's a picture of the suspect unit. There appears to be some rust stains on the cage and some on the outer race. Certain areas of the ball bearings also have a slight wrinkle look to the surface. Everything feels smooth, nothing catches the nail and there's free articulation of the entire assembly. Functionally it appears fine - would you guys replace it?

    thanks

The rust on the cage and outer race means water got in the joint. The "wrinkles" in the balls mean the joint has failed. Time for a new one. I would inspect the others very carefully. A CV joint failure can cause a lot of damage at speed.

Thanks. Honestly if I'm replacing one, I'd replace them all.

Am I correct to assume the Pegasus standard CV's the correct ones?

    Hmm....

I would run that CV all day long.

Yes the Pegasus CV joints will work. They do have the TDI lightened version (that is what I run on my 1991 VD FC).

I can't find the before picture of these CV'S but they were pretty rough before we REM'd them up.
The gear set was a test. I was surprised by the results.
The first pic of the gearsets is with one gear glass beaded and one how the pair came in. The second picture is of both gears after glass beading and REM-ISF treatment. By us,.....of course.

    Default Cryo on Gears?

Never thought about doing gears ... what is the standard pricing for a gear set?

MK series gears are $15 per set to Cryo and $20 per set to REM-ISF

You will not find cheaper prices than that!

    Arax,

If you're looking for an 'easy button', You can just box up the axles and CV's, send them to Scotty at Taylor Racing, and they'll inspect and replace whatever's necessary for a reasonable price. I did that on my Stohr DSR halfshafts, which were suspect when I got them, and they're nearly the same as the Stohr F1000 halfshafts are.

Thanks guys. I ended up purchasing a new set of 4 and will replace them wholesale. Cheap insurance and hopefully will last forever. I just want to get this build finished up (getting very close).
