Does anyone race ff's at the race? I notice they run all the open wheel cars together. I am going to get blown over by an f1 car!

I'm going with my F3 car. I do believe that there is kinda 3 classes for open wheelers...

Formula Juniors, FV, FF, and all others low HP cars, a second class for like the BD and FVA type of power, and then a super class with the F1 and Indy cars.

    Default Mitty

I showed up last year and was the only FF. Other open wheel cars were Indy lights and other high horse power machines. Great to look at, less so to drive with. Most every session was red flagged for spins and wall contact in that group by guys going out with oodles of horse power and cold tires. They put us on track Sunday morning after the production enduro ran late so we had like 12 minutes to do pace lap, race and get off track before the 10am curfew for sound. I don't think I ever got more than 4 or 5 laps in a row.

You might enjoy the venue, super nice people and the great history but don't expect much fun racing in a FF. Just my opinion.

Ya that's kinda the feeling I am getting by the entry list. There is going to be a huge speed differential between me and everyone else. So I hope I can at least get some laps in!

3 years ago, my rookie year, and my cars first outing for 30 years or so, I was placed in the group that ran BDGs, FVAs, ect. Had they not put me in with the JRs, FFs, and FVs, I was going to walk.

What had happened was they only skimmed the application, and assumed I was a much later F3, not the 100 HP F3...LOL

So you and I should be running similar lap times than? Or at least hopefully so we are not there just doing hot laps by ourselves.

LOL. Or we can drive around abreast and slow everybody down...Just to make new friends...LOL

I just looked at the entry list and they have you listed in group 2 instead of group 4?

IM going to call them right now. I'll let you know what was said.

    Call complete...

Jack said that there is a small number of open wheel cars, much smaller than Grp 2. He felt that it would be better to leave us there than to move us.

I finished up with that if we felt unsafe we can always go to Grp 2.

I'm good with that. What do you think?
