Default Fuel Cell Capacity for Vintage FA

What would be the average fuel consumption of say a BDA/BDD for the average vintage practice/qualifying session or race, (non enduro), with say 45/48 Webers or fuel Injection? Trying to determine the capacity of a fuel cell for a FA restoration project that does not currenly have a cell. Would a 5-6 gallon cell suffice for the normal vintage situation? Appreciate any insight and information and thanks. Jerry

Default Fuel cell capacity for Vintage FA

Since most FA Vintage sessions don't exceed 30 minutes, a 5 gallon tank with foam is sufficient. My 78B came with a 7 gallon tank that fill it with 5 gallons for a 30 minute race, giving me a cushion of 1/2 to a full gallon. My Brabham BT-35 with an injected Cosworth FVA (1600) had a single 5 gallon tank which also was enough for each session. If weight is a concern, fill it accordingly for shorter sessions.
