Default 2008 Elan DP04 - and everything to go with it

    Thinking about retiring……

    For sale-

My beloved 2008 Elan DP04. If the car sells then I will also be selling my 2004 20’ x 8.5’ Haulmark trailer and other miscellaneous racing equipment I have accumulated over the years. If the car doesn't sell, I'll probably run it again next year.

    The Car:

2008 Elan DP04 #004 with 07/08 Suzuki . Meticulously maintained. This car is the current lap record holder for Daytona (1:54.689) and the Sebring Short course (1:05.7) with an old man driving using the arguably slower 7/9 Goodyear tires. Last run September 2013. Will need new belts (expired 2013) and an annual. Ran great last time out. Besides belts and annual, if my bead seat fits, you should only need an oil change, sprocket change (unless you run Daytona) and a nut/bolt to be ready for the next race.
*07/08 Suzuki with 4 weekends on it since refresh. Has Loshak modified C&M wet sump pan.
    *Quaife torque biasing differential
    *Aim Micron 3 XG-log

Sorry to see it go so fast, hope you were going to race it next year. Kind of a "bittersweet" moment, I guess...

    Where did it go?

    Hey Brett,

    Bittersweet indeed.

I was just out in the garage with my supersized rum and coke , staring at the car and what will be an empty garage stall tomorrow for the first time in 18 years.

On a positive note, I still have my helmet and can always rent Don's car //www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55853&highlight= if his doesn't sell soon. Also, my wife is happy now because we are going shopping for a bigger boat. Well....she put up with and supported my racing for that long...I don't mind doing something different that she can enjoy too.......er.....uh....I think I'll refill my drink and go back out to the garage.

I'll give you a call tomorrow.

    Default Man that was quick

I didn't even have time to put up a "whoever gets this car is gonna get a really nice piece that can run with the best of 'em" type thing, so w/o any further ado:

Whoever gets this car is getting a really nice piece that can run with the best of 'em!

Enjoy the boat, Tom - hope to see you at a track in the future.

Thanks Coop. Always enjoyed racing racing with you.

I won't be able to stay away from the track long. I just may have to settle for driving a beer cooler cart rather than a race car so ....not too bad..... still hanging out with friends and enjoying racing.

If not before, I'll see you at the 2015 Daytona Runoffs. I am predicting you for gold in '15 . You heard it here first........

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Default Trusting Mick

Tom, you can always flag a corner at Daytona with me...........but only if you want to really learn what the definition of absolute frustration is.

    B.......bust
    O.......out
    A.......another
    T.......thousand

No telling when my car(s) finished......being patient.......no further comments
