Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays.

    Default The HPD link above

shows what looks like one of these engines in a PFM chassis - pretty cool.

If it's anything like the FF Fit engine, it sure sounds like a great thing for FA.

Is it a stock long block off the assembly line (like the FF Fit engine)?

Is it a DOHC or a SOHC? The HPD site says its single overhead cam; elsewhere, it states the K20 as dual overhead cam.

I thought they were having trouble fitting this in 014s, in terms of the underbody aerodynamics?

    Default HPD

The rear of the engine did require cutting into the tunnels some for clearance.

That is not this car in the video, but the PFM with the Honda in it that (I think) Jon Baytos did last year.

The HPD guy at the show said that they will have install kits for the 014 and 016 Swift, he said the kit price all inclusive was $22k. The tunnels looked stock but the engine cover will be ugly to accommodate the intake and exhaust on the wrong side. HPD guy said rebuilds at 3k miles and 270 hp, also said motor is not sealed and HPD will not do the rebuilds, independent motor builders will do that.

Hi Brooks , That is not bad at all, considering a good fresh Toyota is close to that number. Wish they were doing 41's Did they have an estimate for rebuilds?

Mark, The guy I spoke with said that they will not be doing rebuilds but expect shops like Loyning and Elite to do so. HPD guy said there has been no testing of the combo yet, sounds like Swan racing will be doing some of it. He said that the Atlantic "Pro" series has accepted the engine in their series but that install work was not done yet and may not be ready til mid 2014.

    Default HPD Sealed?

Are these to be a sealed engine by HPD or can anyone assemble and install a K20 in an Atlantic car?

Brooks, I believe the engine package is $22k, the bellhousing is additional as I recall. It would be best to contact HPD to confirm. Also, the car/engine at PRI has not been run.

Most areas are fairly smooth. Some of the transitions will rattle your brains in a stiffly sprung formula car. It depends on how the track is configured.

The K20 is a DOHC engine, the question is what K20 engine configuration will be used and what will be added or removed from the engine.

Here is some info and background information on this engine.
