Default Briggs-Stratton/Vanguard

I picked up a C Mod car to solo while I'm finishing my Reynard. Can anyone tell me some good reference material for the Briggs/Vanguard engine? Books, resources, contacts would be appreciated. Sources for new & used parts, builders etc. Anybody selling anything?

Thanks
Dan

I know this: the one in my riding mower has run for 8 years with one oil change.

Looks like a shrunken Formula Mazda...LOL! 46 HP out of a Vanguard is pretty high. Wonder how they do that?
Ah, sounds like they've tuned the engine about as far as it can go without being a grenade... I wouldn't mess with it.

I have no idea what, if any, SCCA Solo or Road Racing class this car would be eligible to run in.

Default what class solo?

here is the answer from the builder/previous owner:

We ran that car and its twin in Formula C MOD in Nashville SCCA events out at the Super Speedway before it closed. We ran it a few years testing before we started generation 2 cars.

Sounds like a local region accommodated these guys by unofficially classing them in CM since it is NOT a CM eligible car. In fact it really is what Solo calls a "special" which goes in AM.

The Solo rule book is online through the Solo tab of the SCCA website. Search for C Modified.

I hope this helps.

Doesn't meet the wheelbase requirement for A Mod.
