    Default Mosport Lodging

I'm planning on coming to the 50th Anniversary race and wondered about fairly close (10-20 min) lodging that might be recommended.
Thanks for any feedback on this.

    Greg,
Mosport (CTMP) really is in middle of nowhere.

There are some B&Bs in the area, which I think are listed on the CTMP website.

There is a Howard Johnson at Bowmanville, which is 20km (12.5 miles) otherwise its Oshawa or Peterborough.

Does anyone else have some suggestions?

    Guy.

    Got a tent?

Liberty Inn (connected? with the HoJo in Bowmanville) is a cheaper alternative I believe...

Oshawa is about 20-25 minutes away (can be done in 15)
    Peterborough is 30-ish

    Default Mosport accomodation

Try Motel 6 Whitby. 5 minutes west of Bowmanville making it 25/30 mins from the track. It's not too bad just don't leave valuables in view in your vehicle overnight.

Plenty of food places within walking distance.

You can go north to Peterborough. ~30 min drive from the track
Lots of hotel choice and some very nice pubs/restaurants.

There are a few campgrounds in between.

    Default Watch your Speed

Beware....there are only a couple of roads into and out of the track. On race weekends the local Durham Police lay in wait.....and LOVE to write you a "special" remembrance of your weekend here. Also the provincial police (OPP) are always on the lookout.

Of course that never happens in any of the tracks in the 'States! heehee

I remember one "special" weekend when we had to bail out a couple guys from the local hooscow ...what is the name of the town you have to drive through to get to Nelson Ledges?

Back to lodging. I live in Markham. It is about 35 minutes west of the track. There are over 20 hotels in the area....all good, not necessarily cheap, but good, clean, safe and relatively close. If you google "hotels in Markham", you'll see a couple of dozen choices. Tons of food choices here as well. All the usual suspects.

    Have fun!

Wow, I'd like to see you do that in 5 minutes! Its over 13miles, you'd have to average 160mph.

    Default Mosport accomodation.

$79/night vs $139/night give or take. Worth the easy drive along the 401. Trust me it feels like 5 minutes exit to exit, not town centre to town centre.

Agree with Ken, look up Hotels in Whitby/Oshawa on Consumers Drive. Excellent combination of hwy access/price/food options within 35 min of the track.

Kawartha Lakes Inn which is in Lindsay, Ontario. Ask for the "Gord Lowe Corporate Rate".

Just noticed that they changed their name to "Knights Inn Lindsay". Seems to be the same owners. Don't expect 5 star...

Try the Greek restaurant in Lindsay
