    Default A Arm Protection

    OK,

I have to explain what I am looking for so hopefully someone can tell me where to find such an item.

I am looking to protect my lower front and rear A-Arms from rock dents while on the car. I am looking for aluminum, or maybe carbon fiber shield covers that mimic the shape of the front of the aero tube so I can cover the front edge of the arm with it. Tape it on and put some hard foam between the cover shield and the A-Arm to protect the A-Arm. Get it? ANyone know if anything exists? Thanks.

Might be able to wrap some of this into shape with some ties and heat:

    Default KEPHOS Coating

I have all my suspension bits coated with a material call KEPHOS. It is applied by a company call KECOs Industrial Coatings, they have facilities in both Indy and Charlotte. Not a plating process, but definitely better than paint, impervious to solvents and quite durable to stone chips.

If your car has a high downforce front wing, the upwash in its downstream flow field creates lift on all of the front suspension links. The optimum solution is to route the brake lines and sensor wiring inside the wishbone tubes, with small reinforcement tubes at all of the wishbone tube penetrations.

None of the various paints, tapes, or coatings will protect the arms from dents - stone hits that actually displace the metal.

Carbon arm covers will be illegal in many classes, including FF, FC, and FB, since it would be considered bodywork (it definitely cannot be classified as suspension). Now, whether or not anyone would ever protest is a different matter all together.
