I'm in. Luckily I get an auto invite based on winning last year. I would have been in trouble otherwise.

    Default First time for me

I will be there and am looking forward to this in a big way!

I understand that JR, Biner, Vollum, Pancea and Hickman plan to be there as well.

Should be a good F1000 showing this year.

    Default Shaping up

with a possible 14 mentioned and another 2 that haven't chimed in so we could be looking at a field of 15+ strong.

Should be a good race and am looking forward to it.

Here's what I'm seeing so far:

    Mike Beauchamp
    Jeremy Hill
    John LaBrie
    JR Osborne
    Terry Biner
    Larry Vollum
    Lucian Pancea
    Alex Mayer
    Glenn Cooper
    Dan Robinson
    Brian Novak
    Michael Crowe
    Jake Latham
    Brandon Dixon
    Juan Marchand

Potential additions that could make it:
    David Burkett
    George Levien
    Rob Adams
    Chris Ash
    Bill McLaughlin
    Tim Pierce
    Richard Franklin

    bold text= qualified
    red text=registered

If the west coast guys that LaBrie mentioned are able to make it, we could have 14 cars take the green flag which would break the record set at the very first F1000 Championship race in 2007. If some of the additional people that are very close to qualifying are able to meet the requirement and come to the race, we would smash that record!

MikeB thanks for adding me to the list, I hope I can meet the requirements. this weekend I'm off to BeaverRun, then Blackhawk, Grattan, NebraskaDbl or BarberDbl, 4 tracks I've never been to. I got the finish at the Cat last weekend so thats one race in the books.

im having trouble with the car but gonna try to limp through until I get the situation under control. later

Default It would be absolutely SO COOL --

-- if ALL those listed in Mike's post were somehow able to attend. I believe that kind of field might almost be on par with the number of FFs competing at the Runoffs in their third year of competition.

    Hope everyone can make it.

    Jeremy

thank you, I'm trying to get the ignition to stop cutting off when coming out of hard left corners( like turn 5 and 8 at RA) I checked the TipOff sensor and it looks like it has 5 wires going to the connector, instead of three wires(like the factory diagram shows). I'm assuming it has been modified by GDRE. I also loose the rpm's on the AIM dash (XG log) even though the car keeps running.

If the tipoff sensor has been modified, is it important to secure it in the "upright" position or it doesnt matter.
That is the main problem now. I will have to trace the AIM RPM/Power wires and see if these tap into the Ckp sensor(+-) or where.
The engine cuts off for .2 seconds tracking out of left hand and power comes back. The AIM logs could show a voltage dip but i havent had success navigating AIM data... I had the transmitter pointing at the wrong side of the track so i record one big lap.

I truly think a gremlin got into the wiring of my car. Its a K5 just in case

i am not sure how my tip over sensor is bypassed but we can check it at the track, you might also consider giving george dean a call, he is the genius where wiring is considered, jeremy

    Juan,
If you haven't checked or replaced it yet, take a look at your master switch. In a pinch, put a few layers of tape on the end of the key so that it pushes the plunger tighter against the contact.

Runoffs Invitation is a race in itself for many of us. It will be very interesting.

I luckily got in 4 out of the 4 Nationals after getting started late this year and unfortunately have business commitments that preclude me from going to any other. I would have loved to make Barber. With three seconds and one first I am 2 points shy of the 46 to be qualified with one of the other three required benchmarks. So Then you must either be in the top 3 in your Division or rank in the top 50 percent of all F1's that competed Nationally. I am seventh nationwide out of 31 participants but that could change drastically with all the final Nationals being held. I am currently third in the SE Division but watch out the double a Barber could bump me if Glen gets two bullets (Glen must finish both races at Barber to complete his*4 Nationals). McLaughlin if he enters could bump into the top 3 in SE Dividion as well. Brandon who is 1st in the SE Division is registered for Barber as Tim Pierce and Richard Franklin who are trying to get Qualified as well at Barber. Tim or Richard could bump into the top three in SE Division as well.

So hopefully we have some more cars come out to build the number of participants to broaden the 50 percent rule for many of us trying to get qualified.

It will be a nail biter in seeing how it all shakes out.

    Default Indeed!

    Christopher,
Back when F/Ford was in it's third year at the Run-offs, they were only taking the top three from each SCCA class, in each division, and there were two (maybe three) less divisions.

    Keith,

Indeed, that's true. Back then it was only the very creme de la creme from each division... some very committed racers.

Maybe I was hyping FB a bit by drawing the comparison. Just wanna see a great big healthy FB field. Question, though. Back in the days when FF was a three years old class (mostly comprised of Lotus 51s), just how big were those fields? As I recollect, they were small... and that FF took quite a while to spool up.

FB has grown quickly -- I'm almost wondering if someday it will produce FF size grids. It's just a very neat category for the 21st century...

    Thanks,

    Chris

    We're now at 10 entries:

    Mike Beauchamp
    Jeremy Hill
    JR Osborne
    Terry Biner
    Larry Vollum
    Dan Robinson
    Michael Crowe
    Jake Latham
    Brandon Dixon
    Juan Marchand

Still waiting to hear from these guys:
    John LaBrie
    Lucian Pancea
    Alex Mayer
    Glenn Cooper
    Brian Novak

Plus a few more that appear to be qualified and could make it.

It's shaping up to be a big race!

    Mike,

Can you add the manufacturer of the car for each driver on your list? We might as well get the manufacturer in volved in this too.

Default You can count me in

I am just waiting to see how the points stack up before I register (cashflow management as my wife decided to splurge on new patio furniture in the middle of racing season!).

Most likely we'll have to go to HPR to ensure I qualify, but we'll see.

I'm looking forward to driving Road America and meeting the rest of the F1000 crowd!

Default I think Lucian is still on the fence

at this point, leaning towards not attending. We were all encouraging him to go when we were at Miller, so maybe he'll change his mind. I think Coop's all in as well, but with him being into dramatics he's probably just building up the anticipation.

    Just harassing you, Glenn!

    See you at the runoffs!
