[quote He hides my tools, won't offer any setup advice and he DOESN'T LISTEN!!! And...he won't take my advice -- wait a minute, maybe he's smarter than I thought./quote]

OK here you go, I'm sure my Citation setup will work on your VD as we all know they are so similar.....

    LF Spring = 800 Lbs
    Rf Spring = 300
    LR Spring = 185
    RR Spring = 185

I run the high spring rate on the left front help deal with the LF loading going into the toe of the boot. Coincidentally data analysis shows unequivocally it also helps press the lf tire onto the pavement in the off camber heal of the boot and the 90.

I came up with the rear spring rates as I was looking for something softer than the normal 600 Lbs spring to deal with the bumps in the last turn. I found the 185's in my FV parts bin. It was a bit of a trick to squeeze the 12" long springs down to fit in place of my 4" springs but I also had my official FV spring compressor and that seemed to work just fine. You are welcome to use it if you like. Necessity is the Mother of something or other....

BTW, this has not been approved by Lathrop, Minor, Langbien, Starke (SR or Jr) or Schwietz.

If you want to help Jimmy with setup for the Glen, you are putting the cart before the horse. Start by pointing out to him where the state of New York is on a map.

See Josh, this is exactly the sneaky, self serving behavior I'm talking about.

He thinks I'm a complete idiot! Anybody with half a brain knows that the 800lb spring should go on the right front. My mother always liked him best. At least your dad can see through this charade.

Tom -- thank you for your insight and support...jimo

This is exactly what I was hoping to create. An intra-Oseth rivalry.

and here I thought the QSRE factor only warped one Oseth. It now seems the damage was so severe it is effecting all other Oseths. Someone better take Danny away before he this disease effects him as well.

Kevin -- It's too late. Daniel doesn't listen to me either.

NPR has a call-in talk show called Car Talk hosted by 2 wacky brothers from a car shop in Boston and they sign off each show by each pleading listeners to 'don't drive like my brother'......seems to fit here.
Indian summer is forecast to set in here in the NE next week.....thankfully, as it snowed in north central Pa. over the weekend.

Click and Clack, The tappet brothers. I love those guys! The best one was when they told the lady with the stuck on parking brake to get two 5 gallon pails of Mazzola oil and dump them on the ground from the rear tires of her car to the closest repair shop. Since her car was front wheel drive, she could drive it to the shop and the rear tires would just slide the whole way there.

You know the interesting thing is that I once asked my brother if he had found anything that would prolong the life of our racing tires. He told me not to tell anybody that he would take a vat of mazzola oil and soak his tires in it overnight the night before a race.

I tried it but it didn't work very well. The car didn't have any grip at all. Steve blamed it on the setup. As he got in his car to leave the track he said something like 'Well sometimes you hit the setup and sometimes you don't.'

After thinking about it for awhile I figured he may be trying to mess with my head...nah

Entry lists for both the F1600 Formula F and F2000 series finales in a day or two.
Early on it looks like over 30 for F2000 and close to 30 for F1600.

Both series will be in the North Paddock beginning in the row closest to the Media Center and filling in a needed as the rows go east, away from the Media Center.
Handy for access to pits as well as Sunday evenings affair.
    No garages are available.
As of right now the long term weather is favorable.......

    Default Fan Club?

Question for Mike: if, hypothetically speaking, there were a dozen Oseth fan club members from western NY yearning to attend the season finale at Watkins Glen, and they were not crew members, how would they gain access to the track? Is there a sign-up list? Are there ticket sales for the VRG event?
    Thanks!

Dennis and I are driving up tonight so not at the track yet but I just spoke with Bill. The track was wet, very slick, lots of guys did only a few slow laps, a few pushed hard in tough conditions, the track started to dry out toward the end when the fastest times were put in. Colin had an off and damaged his car but Bill said he is ok, hopefully the guys will get his car back together quick. After the session it starting raining again and the forecast is for rain this afternoon.

Dennis will have pictures starting tomorrow but unfortunately TJ is at college in Boston and will not be able to attend the race.

    Scanlan is fine, no injuries.

The Millers at Quantum took Gooden testing for multiple days at Hallet with the outcome being a very fine-tuned VD/Honda. Wyatt looked so smooth, as if it was no effort to drive the day-glo orange rocket. Other drivers commented on how smooth his car looked from behind as they were chasing it. I get to see all the tires on the top six as they roll into impound. Wyatt's looked noticibly less stressed than the others. Wendall was pointing at Slade for finding all the secrets they needed. Quantum Motorsports have to be considered a strong favorite for next year.

With these great consistent Hoosier tires, and the Honda powerplant, it is possible to do dozens of hours of hard testing, and use the same engine to win races afterwards. A testament to a nice formula.

Len - Thanks for going out of your way to pick me up and drop me off. It was a fun, although wet and cold weekend.

Impressive to see Chris Keller finish in 5th with the Piper in race 1 and put the car on the front row for the second race. All this is a car he has not driven before and was set up for another driver.

Look forward to attending a few more events in what has got to be one of the best run series out there.

Ross, having some trouble editing the MPEG-4 video of the new HD camera, but should have something soon to share. Race 2 from Sunday has some really great video.

In the meantime, here is a teaser, video from Saturday's "race that never was" showing just how miserable the conditions were. This is from the front, the rear shows the crash but apparently we should not post that.
