I use to have a DL2A, and sent a letter to Hawke years ago asking about brakes. I was told that the front uprights were from a Triumph Vitesse. I imagine that they are the same as a Spitfire, as the front brake disks. I was also told that the rear brake disks were from a Triumph 2000, whatever that is. Same goes for the rear stub axle.

Its the front uprights I need info on,its a 2B and the fronts are factory built not triumph, the hole mounting ctrs for the caliper are3.25" and there set back enough that I would need a disc with aprox 2"--2.25" hat,I have just about given up and am leaning to replacing them with the triumph upright

    Marjon,

Good plan. All DL2Bs should be fitted with non-fabricated front uprights. Strongest are GT-6 fitted with Spitfire caliper brackets so the Spitfire rotors and 14 LF or 12 SP calipers will fit.

BTW, you want Triumph 2000 MK 1 FRONT rotors for the rear. You can buy them here:

    Marjon,

You should use the trunions and go with the DL2A setup or buy Crossle front uprights that use a spherical bearing on the bottom. Crossle welds a post on the bottom of the GT-6 or Spitfire upright. Porter has these or if you are a great welder and have access to heat treating, you could do it yourself. Look at a Crossle 32/35/45 so you can see what I mean. You obviously have to modify the lower wishbone.
